It looks a lot better. I would love to see a version where you turn up the light to 40 % of of the difference between the two versions.

Mulu2065

Looks pretty amazing, I love the lights. When this comes out it will make me want to stop being lazy and start adding mass transit to my city. Keep up the good work. &apls

mattb325

Thanks guys for the comments. I will do a bit more testing on the current iteration of the train station and then package up if no issues: increasing the intensity of the lights by 40% (or indeed any percentage) works fine in Maxis night, but now, given that many players use either Gizmo's or SF dark night mods, I have to make sure it doesn't stand out too much on those (which the brighter versions did)  &mmm....

Another very wet weekend in Sydney gave me a bit more time to knock a little something up (GMAX I'm afraid, Girafe - my student days are decades behind me)

Girafe

No I just asked this, asyou are using darknite export? Simfox's one? for me it was only available for max.
Moreover your work with glass is extremly good for Gmax.
Thus I was no confident with the software you used.

I like this virgin, could fit nicely to HT or small commercial area.
I just don't like the parking entrance, which is so fake. Rest of lotting is good as usual  ;)

Thankyou, both: I'll have a look for some other parking options, but a little stuck for choices as I don't want the lot size bigger than 4x4.

I just use the Day and Night mod for testing: it returns almost identical results to Gizmos dark night mod, so I use the two with about the same frequency...I don't think Sim fox ever released a dark night script for gmax, but I can't be certain there.  I do know that you can run a separate night render for Gmax and then manually edit the FSH files, and edit the BAT in the reader, this gives results similar to what everyone is now doing in MAX, but it's probably not something I would consider doing.

Glad you like the window textures. That particular one is just a bing map from a suburban office park with the Maxis glass overlayed on top, I then ran the textures through the glass script in GIMP which gives a wavy sort of blur, brightened and sharpened it and then gave it an opacity of about 50-60%.

Anyways...another one. Again completely ficticous: Embassy apartments.

These are low wealth starter flats. I find I often need to have some decent low wealth around to ensure that my medium/high wealth demand levels don't tank throughout the region. This is on a 3x3 and 6x6 lot

IonCannon

Looks great, really looking forward to seeing these, the small offices you did were all excellent.

I like both of these new buildings, although I would say the Virgin logo looks a little squished.

I really like the lots on the apartments (aside from the underground parking, it seems a little much for that type of building, I think the surface parking is more than adequate).  Looking forward to both of these.

art128

Excellent work on the two last buildings, Matt! Both the Virgin mega and the flat are wonderful. The work on the modeling and the texture is really among one of the best. :)
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

Jack_wilds

Really like these last few new projects... apartments -wonderful, I like the lotting particularly the 6x6 lot ... and I also like the design of the apartments; what did you have an inspiration for 'em ()what()  then a  %confuso -as in, what is the difference between efficiency apartments and flats?... anticipating further updates  :)

Thankyou guys

I have uploaded the sunken railway station. http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2702 Get it at a LEX near you  ;)

@Utvaw, I will have a look at the parking and see what I can do....although there are only 24 parking spaces on the lot and 12 apartments per block (36 in all)....not too bad a ratio I suppose....

@Jack: there's no real difference between flat and apartment: some people get offended when you call their apartment a 'flat' as the implication (thanks to real estate agent jargon over the last two decades) is that 'flats' are somehow less expensive than 'apartments'. The word condo never took off here, but that is essentially what most of them, rather than being owned by a company and let en masse, are and are sold under a strata scheme (equivalent to your co-op schemes like those that exist in Manhattan).

As for inspiration, I just make this stuff up as I go along  :D

Another one:

Made up of course, it's much more fun that way  ;D

Utvaw

Nice, I like the colors on this one.

Simcitler

Great work again Matt.
I really like your buildings. Just a question on that recent one. What is this "barrier" in front of the windows on the fifth floor? (red section)

~ Simcitler

mattb325

Thankyou Utvaw and Simcitler. The 'barriers' on the DHL building are a feature where the coloured cladding takes a step down diagonally. On the green section (although obscured by trees) it takes a step up diagonally. It is more prominent on the rear of the building.

I have finally released the London W2W prop pack http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2709

And the Cadogan Square Corner Lot http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2710

Initially I was actually going to add to the London set, but after a year of inactivity on that front thought it high time to release them  ::)

Mulu2065

Look at your new apartments in my city.

I love them so much I bulldozed a building standing there for 30 years to make way for this.
I hope you release some more this weekend, they give class to my city.

baconrocky

My jaw hit the floor when I saw you finally released the London Set. It gave me a whole renewed interest in the game! I hope you'll be inspired to expand the set in the future?
