Today a small update, with more about ring road Tilburg. We start on the N14 just after the ecoduct passage from the previous update. Here we see intersection Vught - Industrieweg North.

The next intersection is the A15. The A15 connecting the N14 to the main motorway A4.

The N14 goes into a tunnel below the intersection with the A15. At the roundabout crosse the local road from Gestel.

Here begins the junction with the A4. The A4 is very quiet ... too quiet here because I am busy with a reconstruction of the junction whit the A10 and A12.

At this time, the A4 still very bumpy. This will be fixed. The A4 will be widened here from 3 and 4 lanes to 5 lanes.

That's all for this update comments are always welcome!

Ring road Tilburg N14 part 3
Even today an update on the N14 ring road Tilburg. We start at the junction with the A15 from the previous update, below on the image.

After this turn and junction the motorway continues as N15. The N14 take the exit and continue at the right on the image.

The N14 continues with 2x1 lanes. There is insufficient budget to build the N14 with 2x2 lanes. Agricultural traffic also uses the N14, which regularly caused traffic jams. There are plans to build a tunnel under the N14 for the agricultural traffic. The agricultural traffic can cross without having to drive the N14.

Then we come to the connection to the A10, the A10 has recently expanded to three and four lanes.

After this intersection the N14 gets another road profile. 2x1 lane with median and separated level crossings.

The N14 is a major access road for the industrial area. The industrial area has also a light rail connection between Tilburg and Rosmalen. The idea is that employees use the light rail to get to the work.

The intersection with the industrial area and the N269. The N269 is a new road that connects the industrial area with the A12 and the N14.

After this intersection the N14 change again in another road profile. The 2x1 road profile without a median.

The roundabout connect the N14 with the N269 which goes to Tilburg.

The N14 continues with 2x1 lanes. The slope is prepared for 2x2 lanes.

The N14 on the other side. Here again a roundabout, the N14 makes a turn and goes over the canal.

A narrow curve and a floor intersection.

And a floor intersection. This intersection is very dangerous because it lies so close to the railway. Traffic wait on the railroad. Almost all traffic turn here from the N14. The N14 continue straight.

The traffic of the N14 goes on this road to the A28. The N14 has no connection to the A28.

The intersection with the A28. This intersection is often used by traffic that comes from the N14.

The N14 runs with a viaduct over the A28. In the future, this may be a new intersection with the A28/N14. You can also see that the A28 turns into the N282 with 2x1 lanes.

Overviews

That was the project ring road Tilburg. The new infrastructure will end to the traffic problems of the region.

Today is the widened A12 motorway officially opened. The A12 is widened from 2x2 lanes to 2x3 lanes. Also, the connection to the node of the A4 motorway and A10 motorway modified.

We start with the cloverleaf the node with the A4 and A10 (see on left). Here has the A12 a parallel structure. Right you see the connection with the N268 N269.

The junction has been completely renewed. The old viaduct was too small for the 2x5 lanes. Left shows the N269 connecting road to the N14. Right you see the N268 bypass Boxtel. The N268 also has a free right turning lane to the A12 Ressen.

Here we see the N268, on the top left you see the free right turning lane.

The A12 goes from 2x5 lanes to 2x3 lanes.

From the other side we look at the rest area and the acceleration lane of the free right turning lane form the N268.

Overview of the N268 N269 intersection.

In the curve, the A12 motorway has 2x4 lanes. Just like in real life Netherlands wants everyone left driving on the motorway! $%Grinno$%

The rest area on the other side of the highway.

The A12 continues in the direction Ressen whit 2x3 lanes.

A new bridge over the canal.

We are nearing the junction with the A28.

During the construction of the node was already taken care into the widening of the A12.

The viaduct was prepared for the widening. As part of capacity expansions at the railway is the viaduct is expanded. The railway now has 4 tracks. In the coming years the entire corridor Schiphol - Tilburg expanded to four tracks.

There is also a viaduct built for the HOV - bus link. The new area of Ressen is fully served by this new connection. The HOV bus link goes to the train station Ressen, and drive to Boxtel and Hoofddorp.

The A12 is sandwiched between sound barriers. Left shows the residential area of Ressen, right you see the old part of town.

The intersection Ressen North. This is the last connection in the Netherlands. After this the A12 by going to Belgium.

Today we look at the expansion area of the Ressen a VINEX location, and the surroundings.

HOV- bus link Ressen, Boxtel and Hoofddorp
The public transport has get extra capacity due to the widening of the A12. There is a HOV - bus link realized. The new area of Ressen neighborhood De Meern is fully served by this new connection. The HOV bus link goes to the train station Ressen, and drive to Boxtel and Hoofddorp. Here we see some of the exposed bus lane.

The bus line runs parallel to the railroad. The railway was also extended to 4 tracks.

The bus lane ends here in the old part of the Ressen.

The train station is enhanced with a major bus station for the new HOV bus link.

The existing crossovers for the train tracks have been replaced by tunnels. Here goes the train tracks back to two tracks. In the future, the track expanded to four tracks.

A28 - N267
Traffic on the N267 and the A28 has increased due to new housing project / neighborhood De Meern. The infrastructure has been slightly adjusted to improve traffic flow. Here is the A28 expanded from 2x2 to 2x3 lanes (from intersection to intersection).

Again, the A28 line extended from 2x2 to 2x3 lanes. The N267 is under the viaduct widened to 2x2 lanes.

The A28 continues whit 2x3 lanes.

In order to accommodate further population growth in the Netherlands were the VINEX document a set of principles for the construction of new residential areas since then. The main assumption was that new residential areas close to existing urban centers had to be planned. More information about the VINEX locations at the Netherlands.

Overview of De Meern

The construction of the first HSR line is in progress. Who thought there was only money spent at roads in the near future had it wrong. There is currently a lot of money spent on infrastructure projects, in order to keep the economy of the country in running. At the moment the biggest infrastructure project is the construction of the first phase of the HSR. In the first phase, a HSR track built from Schiphol airport to Tilburg whit a link to Belgium. The construction of the HSR will be in the same time as the road projects in the area from the plan Urgent-approach 30 bottlenecks. The HSR runs are parallel to the most important motorway of the country, the A4.

There is a tunnel made under the A4 at Rosmalen.

The junction with the A26. The A4 now has three through lanes in each direction.

Soon more about the HSR in New Holland, and of course the necessary adjustments at the motorways along the HSR line.

Paul 999

Today, the new N15 opened. The N15 gets in the context of the ring road Tilburg a big upgraded. Here comes the N15 ring road inside Tilburg. This section had previously 2x1 lanes and floor intersections.

In order to minimize disruption to the environment, the N15 is placed in a tunnel.

Unfortunately no real in- and exiting lanes here. This limitation is a real bad thing about the RHW mod.

The N15 is making a right turn into the tunnel. On top of the tunnel a number of other important roads converge.

Here we see also a new tram station.

The other side of the tunnel mouth.

From here, the N15 is part of the inner ring of Tilburg.

The third lane of the N15 stops here.

The intersection with the A10.

The tram has a underground station here.

Here the N15 crosses the eastern ring road

The N15 leaves Tilburg on a bridge over the canal.

To conclude the overviews of the N15 tunnels that are opened today.

I hope that someone is interesting in my topic, the previous update with the HSR got no response. Comments are welcome!

As usual very good layouts, and I like the HSR plans :D

I've read through all of your updates, and I really like your MD.  ::)
I kinda got a guilty feeling for never commenting on it, when you pointed out there where no comments.  &mmm
But I assure you it has been a great inspiration, even though my region doesn't look half as good as yours.

What I really like is that your region is developing nice and steadily, like one would expect it to happen in real life.. sort of :D
Do you plan on ever "finishing" your region, or do you just keep on playing it till you some day get bored?

Shopping area Tilburg
In the last update I had forgotten to show the shopping area of Tilburg. Now included.

HSR - South (phase 1)
Today we look at the first phase of the HSR. The HSR - South, the route runs from Boschelona station East to station Schiphol - Airport.

The crossing over the A1.

The HSR goes in the tunnel to the station Schiphol - Airport. Or towards to the A4 (left).

Station Schiphol - Airport.

The A4 motorway runs here parallel to the HSR.

The next update we follow the HSR deeper into the country.

Thanks for the responses, and new comments are always welcome!

Today we look at Part 2 of the new HSR. This part of the route runs along the A4 motorway. The HSR construction was difficult, there was no room reservation along the motorway. We start at the A4 near Schiphol airport and the junction whit the A5 and the N617.

The A4 whit a parallel system, 2+3x3+2. The flyover of the A5 whit 2 lanes. And the N617 on the right.

The junction with the A5 is not complete in all directions. You see the space reservation between the two lanes, in the future it is possible to create the full junction whit all directions.

Continue with the A4 motorway, this part had previously only 2x4 lanes.

The connection with the N260 has been completely renewed, the old viaduct is demolished and there is a tunnel built for the N260.

The HSR and the motorway cross over.

Near the junction whit the A26 motorway.

The junction whit the A26 motorway and the HOV- bus viaduct.

The HSR is now close to the normal railway.

The A4 whit a parallel system, 3+3x3+3.

The intersection whit the N264.

The next update we look at the remainder section of the HSR along the A4.

Sweet! I actually used the default Maxis Monorail tunnels with my high-speed route for the full speed benefit, instead of subway tunnels, aside from on one branch. Albeit, the track had to be elevated to match the default portal. Looks great though!  ;D
