In a letter to us, the Regime, written by our subjects in our new city of Bliss and kindly dictated to them by us in order to help them with such difficulties as grammar, spelling and choice of words, they expressed their gratitude for being given an opportunity to live under our watchful eye, gladly relinquishing their freedom in return for no taxes, no pollution, no fires or crime, and no parks, much to the delight of those who are afraid of open spaces, claim to be allergic to pollen or hate having their clothes ruined by grass stains.

We were, of course, pleased with this letter, and decided to continue to grant our subjects...

...a life in Bliss. Millions reside in these cosy cottage-esque houses, and yes, one has to admit they make Bliss look more like a village than a city. (This view might seem monotonous, but one has to understand that many blueprints were destroyed during the obliteration of the first city of Bliss, and clever architects are indeed hard to find these days...)

...and as you can see, everything is in order here in Bliss - all is green and nothing is red - as it should be in a city where a firm totalitarian hand such as ours master everything and keeps such nonsens as wimpy democracy and ghastly freedom from messing everything up.

More is to come.

End of communication.

Russell, glad to see Bliss is back.  I'm sure its citizens will continue to "flourish" under the regime. :D And of course, it goes without saying that I'm looking forward to seeing more.  Best of luck recruiting architechs as well. ;)

Bliss is back! So glad to see that the citizens no longer have to worry about making their own decisions, the regime is here to do it for them!

Tarkus: Thank you. Bliss is glad to be back. And We, the Regime, continue our search for architects capable of providing us with buildings we like. But so far, We have found none.

Thundercrack83: Yes, the people in Bliss are happy. And you are more than welcome to join them.

Gathered together in Bliss, the houses where our subjects thrive...

...sometimes unexpectadly step aside to reveal a glimpse of water, framing a statue like the one on the left...

...or this one, the classic and famous Mother Regime, reconstructed to adorn the new city of Bliss just as she adorned the old one - see how proudly she raises her sword to protect her beloved people...

...from perhaps the disgruntled envoys from the city of San Fransisco, accusing the Regime of plagiarism after an exact replica of their City Hall had been constructed to house both the Secret Police and all those bureaucrats necessary for swift and effective administration...

...those envoys soon went up in smoke after being arrested by the Secret Police, accused of subversive activities, then shot while trying to escape and immediately cremated...

...but not all that is framed by water is art - this newly inaugurated subway station, capable of transporting 50.000 of our happy workers to their beloved factories, can hardly be considered to be a sculpture, but is nevertheless just as decorative.

More is to come.

End of communication.

A proud moment when the Regime launches its first space shuttle. The citizens living nearby feel not only the blast, but also a sense of delight for being in the center of history, and shards of glass from the broken windows will always be regarded as valuable souvenirs from this historic occasion.

Bliss is back. I feel whole again.
I'll take one of those cottage-esque apartments overlooking the smokestacks. Yeah, a deep relaxing breath of fre... of air in the morning before fulfilling my lifes dreams at my lifes work, in the crematorium. (wipes tears from eyes...)

This is a great MD.  I love your sense of humour.  The city looks very cool as well.  I actually like the repeated Res buildings.  But I can't believe there are so many.  I have never been able to get one of my cities over 1 million.  But than again I usually lose interest in the city I'm building and start another.

I dare say Russel. It is a true bliss to have Bliss back among us. BTW how much does the regime charge for a glas shard memento of the happy occasion?

STRECH.

I like the contrast between the low wealth housing and the monuments and buildings of the Regime. I can't say I've seen such a large low wealth city and to be honest the idea hasn't previously appealed, but you have done a great job here and the result, well, is brilliant. I can't wait to see more.

Cheers

The Regime responds to the latest comments:

Glepet: Good that you are whole again. One of the apartments has been reserved for you, and a position as supervisor at the neighbourhood crematorium awaits you. Please prepare for long work hours and no holidays and a permanent stench emanating from your clothes.

Rooker1: Thank you very much. Yes, we do have an odd sense of humour...and we also like the repetition. And you are right: it is easy getting tired of a city after a while. They are always the most fun in the beginning.

Strechnitz: Thank you. It is a bliss to be back again. And for you, the shards are free, and not only that, as a benevolent gesture, the Regime has delivered an entire crate of these treasured souvenirs to His Holy imperial Majesty Jerome Victor IV. We hope he enjoys them.

Patfirefghtr: Your jubilation is most welcome. And the Secret Police has no wish to hunt you down. They, as We, regard you as a friend and allied.

Bat: Thank you. It is good to be back. And after experimenting with mosaics, We have decided to continue the use of more regularly shaped pictures.

Filasimo: We have not heard from you before. Thank you for liking our job, but We assure you that We will never fall, and the people will never experience variety - that would only confuse them.

Tooheys: Thank you. We take pleasure in hearing that you enjoy the design of our city. Your comment will henceforth be used by our Ministery of Propagande when it comes to conveying our subjects they live a life of bliss in Bliss.

Bliss...

...is zoned in a rather unusual way that may give a suffocating impression...

...but Mount Bliss, severely terraformed by the Regime...

...undoubtedly breaks up the clutter, providing the city with a refreshing and much needed air of nature.

Classic!

It looks like I missed a few updated here, sorry about that! Bliss is looking more and more wonderful with each one, too! The regime certainly knows how to take of their citizens and, from the looks of those zones, does a great job with getting as many happy citizens in there as possible! Keep up the great work, Russell!

Another great update! Beautiful pictures, Russell!

Great update, as oppresive (I mean impressive) as usual. I never realised there were so many shades of brown. By the way, has anyone ever made it to the top of Mt Bliss?

Cheers

Dave

(Am I allowed to say cheers here, it's sort of a happy word)
