Fantastic update Terring, Eden is a spectacular colony!

dedgren

Elias, I think you have had more fun doing a year or so's worth of Eden than just about any other MDer I know.  There's certainly a bunch of pretty cool stuff to be found here.  I'll be looking forward to seeing where all this heads in 2012.

Hi Elias,
i think it´s my first comment here (shame on me  ()sad()) This MD and what You do with the SimMars stuff is outstanding from beginning on! Although my preferences are different and more earthy (;D) i´m completely stunned and will come back again.

I finally recreate Fun-5. It has now better parks, a mining operation facility and many other interesting places to see.

In 2011 A.D. (42 A.T.) the scientists discover a ring of antimatter around Earth. By studying this environment, harvesting energy by antimatter will be a reality sooner than we though.

Yes, this is an antimatter research facility!

Need some water?

Have some trash to recycle?

This is the mine, providing useful minerals to the colonists. Some of them will be transported as-it-is by airships, while others will be transport by trucks to the factories to turn them into products.

Here are a large spaceport and 2 small airports, to provide access to the others colonies on Mars, Martian moons, Earth and Moon.

Let's have a short visit to the 2 arcologies of this colony.

This is the university of Fun-5. It looks small because almost all activities take place underground.

And now it's time to explore Fun-5. This colony had huge plazas, but now they get a great upgrade. You can see trail paths, a crater to explore, landmarks, quiet little homes next to large apartment buildings, temples, factories, huge skyscrapers, stadiums e.t.c.

Have fun in Fun-5 ;D

More spectacular an update my friend, keep watching and hoping for more. And great pyramid!

bat

Great work on your new updates!!

It's Tsiknopempti toady and guess what. It's time for an another one boring teaser about the still-under-construction Terran city of 2064 A.D. (95 A.T.). Remember that this city is huge, so I need to turn off the automata, pedestrians and shadows, in order to reduce lagging and crashes. So don't complain about "empty streets". Replies and a nice surprise are coming soon...

An interesting project. >:( Only the massive skyscrapers I would leave first. Have you considered the idea to use more HK set?  :satisfied:You could build huge residential areas and a futuristic city center on a big map. I like this picture especially:

Let me celebrate the second place by showing an upgraded version of Respect-8, the only so far colony with a huge biodome.

Respect-8 has a large biodome surrounded by a small industrial ring. In the outside we'll find some small settlements and farms.

This is the small nuclear power plant.

Sims here need water and this is the hydrological facility of Respect-8.

All unnecessary items are gathering here for recycling, upgrading and repairing. No trash on Mars.

You can visit the colony by the roads and the speedway...

... or by airplane.

Now it's time to explore the biodome, with plenty of trees and animals in the low gravity of Mars.

You can visit the biodome from the 4 entrances or by the subway.

Now that you are inside the biodome, take out your spacesuit and take a deep breath. You can finally see trees and deer, listen to the birds and walk on the grass.

Just outside of the biodome, we'll find industries and some shops.

In the south-west of the colony we'll find a small rural settlement, with homes and farms.

In the north-east of the colony, a small colony ship from Earth has landed and a small settlement established. Mars belong to every Sim and there are no nations, wars, nationalism and borders here in the red planet. Mars is everybody's home, a world based on science and understating.

Mars is the new Eden, where technology and philosophy ascent the Simkind. Intelligence born on Earth, but evolved on Mars.

Mars however is still a dangerous world, without oxygen and water. Martian geysers becomes more and more common here in the mayor colonies, without putting them in danger.

There are still some "loonies" who like planting trees on Mars. In domes of course...

But Mars is truly belong to the SimMartians? There are many buildings made by an ancient civilization, about a million years old. However in the south-east of Respect-8, there is a strange formation of stones called Marshenge. Marshenge made about 100 years ago, and probably not naturally. Is there an intelligent specie lurking around the Martian deserts? The orbital scanners and air droids didn't find them yet, if they still exist. What will happen if/when the modern SimMartians will meed the Ancient Martians?

Hello my friends and welcome to a new feature, with crazy pictures, errors and epic failures. Who said that a mayor diary should be perfect? ;D ;D

O.K., so what is the very first thing you'll have in your mind when you hear "Mars"? A colony? A cold desert? No, it's a rural geothermal power plant! Very common here in Mars :D

Even more common are the rural water pumps. Now this is something that's very rare on Earth ;D

Ah, camping on Mars. But wait a minute, some of them are missing in the night. Oh no, it's the invasion of the alien tent thiefs! ()lurker()

Kumbaya!
