hello everyone.

I am using columbus terrain mod, but I want to switch to another mod more in line with my buildings and landscapes.
I tried to install on my computer the mod Pyrenees, where I proceed to uninstall everything to do with the old mod (CPT_TerrainEssentials). Install the new mod, restart the game and when the city begins, the game crashed and I sent back to the desktop.

What I can do?
What have I done wrong?

Regards

CasperVg

Most likely you do no not have the dependencies for your new terrain mod yet.

For the Pyrenean terrain mod, you need 3 texture dependency packs from ToutSimcities:

TexturePack 3
TexturePack 2
TexturePack 1

Hope that helped,
Casper

Thanks Casper, though he had installed the dependencies (I thought so had them installed), the problem persists. I deleted all files but when I delete CPT (CPT_No3_TerrainTextures_Essential.dat and CPT_No4_TerrainTextures_Essential.dat) the game crashed and I sent back to the desktop.

Solution: install CPT_TerrainEssentials but then again have the Columbus terrain mod.

What can be happening?

A terrain mod can be split into two basic parts, the textures and the controller.  If the controller is installed, but the textures are not, you will get a crash to desktop (CTD), which is exactly what happened when you deleted CPT_NO 3 and 4.  Somewhere in your plugin folder is a CPT_No6, the controller, I would say.  Search and destroy. :)

There is a load order to the files in your plugin folder (Link), and it is largely alphabetical.  A "duct tape" solution would be to create a new folder named "z_Pyrenean Mod" (or perhaps more "z"s in front) and put the Pyrenean controller in there.  The Pyrenean controller is the file that installs directly to the plugin folder when you install the mod.

OK Lowkee.
You are a master at this, but I searched in my plugin folder and have not found any CPT_No6 file, which I guess is the file command.
Whatever my plugin folder is a disaster, I find that file command CPT.

to be honest, I do not want to order 3 GB of plugin.
If I give the solution, I will discuss here.

greetings.

Hmm, The Columbus mods were the first mods that CycleDogg made, and they don't adhere to the numbering system.  This search "CP_ColumbusPlayTerrainParameters" might help, it should also find the snow height mods.

You don't have to order the whole plugin folder, just put that one pyrenean file into a folder that starts with a (or many) "z"s

I deleted all traces of files CycleDogg. All that remains of all the files that could contain the command file are:
CP_DiagonalFix_SNOWCAPPED_LOWER.dat
CP_DiagonalFix_SNOWCAPPED.dat
CP_DiagonalFix_SNOWCAPPED_LOW.dat

I do not think are related, but all I found the whole plugin folder.

This is a real question!

Lowkee33

Yep, those are terrain mods and need to be removed to make anything work.

You would only want to have one of those files in your plugin folder at a time anyway, perhaps you should go through those 3 gigs  ;)

speed285

Well, I've managed to solve the problem.

I deleted the three files. Now everything works perfectly.

Lowkee Thanks, for pointing out possible solutions. I am a follower of your work.
Maybe someday I do get yourself a "terrain mod" or "tree mod" ;)
