I read this thread http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=12469.0 and from what I understand, the building and the foundation you need to do as props, and "building" will be invisible cube?

I have a some question:

1. Whether the building can be set in PIM as building a foundation as the foundation? Are then both of these things will work properly in LOT if I choose in LotEditor my own foundation?

2. What are the values set in LE, that the building built on the slopes with my own foundation and not the original?

3. And what values you enter in the LE or the iLive Reader, that the building does not flatten the tile?

4. Can anyone make a short tutorial so that by the help of screenshots show how to do this, because several times I tried to do the methods outlined in the above quoted thread, but probably my knowledge of English is inadequate, and I misunderstood something or doing something wrong somewhere?

There are two types of foundations, lot foundations and building foundations.  The building foundation will appear under the building of the lot whenever there is a slope on the lot.  When the slope gets too steep, the entire lot will be flat and a lot foundation will appear around the edges of the lot.

I don't really like the Lot Foundation.  In MaxisLE, I would make the Foundation Threshold larger than the LotMax value (both of these are in the Lot Tab).  I would rather have the lot not grow at all than to see the lot foundation.

By default, the Building Foundation will appear as a cube underneath the building.  You can make a custom foundation in BAT, the only difference is that when you export, select the "foundation" box instead of "building".  This will make it so the model does not cast shadows (which would look bad when the model is underground).

Once the model is made, a Desc can be made just like any other desc, except you drag it to the Foundation selection (in MaxisPIM it is near the bottom, PIMX near the top).  Finally, when make the actual Building Desc, give it the property "Building Foundation" with a value of the Foundation's Instance.

Quoteinvisible cube?

Not necessary at all.  The Lot file will have another "Building Foundation" property, if you don't want a custom foundation and you never want to see the ugly cube under your model, make that property 0x194B1000.

A quick recap, you make your actual building in BAT with nothing going under ground and render it as a building.  Make the foundation completely underground and render it as a foundation (of course, make the foundation line up nicely with the shape of the building.  You could also raise the building a little, and then extend the foundation above ground by just that much).

The building model gets a normal desc, the foundation model gets a Foundation desc, and then the "Building Foundation" property is added to the normal desc with a value of the Instance of the Foundation desc.
