Copenhagen Airport (IATA: CPH, ICAO: EKCH) is the main international airport serving Copenhagen, Denmark and the Øresund Region. It is located on the island of Amager, 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) south of Copenhagen city centre, and 24 kilometres (15 mi) west of Malmö city centre on the other side of the Øresund Bridge. The airport lies mainly in the municipality of Tårnby, with a small portion in neighboring Dragør. It is the largest airport in the Nordic countries, and one of the oldest international airports in Europe.

To warm you guys up, here is a little teaser:

I'm trying to recreate the whole aiport area, as good as I can. There is obviously some limitations coursed by Sim City 4.

More pictures will come!

An MD based around an airport? This should be interesting to see. I look forward to seeing more pics as the surrounding area develops. :) :)

Also you might want to convert the last pic to jpg like the rest, mainly because they can take forever to load, and don't forget to un-pause the game when taking pics so you don't get the yellow border, it really helps to make a pic better. ;)

Great first post.  Even after though you have been registered here for many years, let me welcome you.
As some of the others have already said....an airport MD, should be very interesting.

Please remember to post your pics as jpgs and change the one above when you get the chance, thank you.

That's one nice looking WIP! Can't wait to see more developments around the airport.

Thank you for all the nice words!  &apls

And sorry for the .png picture. I have converted it .jpg.

Sadly, I realized that my measurement is not right. The runways do not have the right length and that courses that there is not enough space for the last terminal.

So... I started mapping a map and hopefully I can get it to work.

The bad thing is that all my work on the airport shown in the above picture is gone and I have to redo everything.   :-[

Maybe I will post a picture when the map is done.

rooker1

I suggest that you post pics of your work as you go.  A lot of us, maybe just me, don't know how to properly make an airport and would love to see some progressive work.
Just a thought,

this is so cool.... can't wait to see more!  &apls

Okay. The map is finish. It is as good as I can get it. :-[

I marked the runways. They are the most important and they have to fit with each other and the city borders.

and the real thing

@rooker1: Good idea  :) I will try.
@nas-t. I'm glad that you like it.  $%Grinno$%

I'll keep an eye on this one.

Congratulations, CPH must be one of the hardest airports to recreate! Nothing conforms to a grid out there; so a few compromises must be reach (see for example the concourse connecting the larger Terminal 2 with Terminal 1 on the end of the crossing runway).

You should widen the aiming point a little so they don't just look like longer TDZs though; then we only need some SAS A330s and A340s! (and Norwegian 737s... As Cimber's out we'd be covered then)

Kack

Just a little update from EKCH.

art128: Thank you! It takes quite a time to make all the pieces for the runways.:)
nas-t: It is :D And thanks!
Exla357: Sounds great! Allways nice with some followers :)
krbe: Yes, indeed this is a very tough one to recreate. I'm trying to make a few comprimises as possible. Thanks for the great feedback!

And now... the pictures! This is a picture from runway 22R and it's displaced threshold.
