News:

The SC4 Devotion Forums are no longer active, but remain online in an archived, read-only "museum" state.  It is not possible for regular members to post or use the private messaging system, and no technical support will be provided for any issues pertaining to the forums in their current state.  Attachments (those that still work) are accessible without login.

The LEX has been replaced with SC4Evermore (SC4E), and SC4E maintains an active Discord server.  For traditional forums, we recommend Simtropolis.

i have never installed a mod for sc4 before, but i figured i would try the modded experience by installing cam+nam, but i have found that i need nearly endless number of dependancy files, which is really annoying.

are there any packs that collect all the stuff together to make for an easy installation?

NCGAIO

Not exist...

A  reason ...

"$Deal"$   - CAM - Available as a Torrent or Elsewhere?

It's one reason the complexity of doing so. (verify compatibility)

"$Deal"$   - missing z_CAM

The CAM is a mod that will add growth stages 9 thru 15 to your game. Basically you can grow the Empire State building as a stage 13 rather than PLOP it down as a landmark. There is a bit more too it as it also changes some of the growth, demand, capacity rules to achieve the results as well.

There are some STARTER packs on the Lex. And I used those when I was beta testing the CAM but deleted them when the CAM went public and slowly increased my tall building library as I went along. Playing the game until I saw my first stage 8 commercial building grow. I then went to the LEX and got some Stage 9 and 10 buildings. Then got some stage 11 and 12's when I saw those start to sprout. That broke the downloading into smaller more manageable tasks. Plus I was able to get the buildings I liked. I think that the industrial starter pack is worthwhile at the start because stage 4, 5, and 6 factories will be the first CAMeLots to grow in your city. Long before any stage 9 commercial or residential buildings.

Use the list of CAMeLots and links in this thread often. It is a valuable resource. It will help you eradicate brown boxes and help you collect CAMpatable buildings.

You will eventually gain some confidence and should learn to use the XTool. It can turn your existing buildings into CAMpatable buildings with a couple of mouse clicks

Good Luck - Jim
