Hi

My first post on SC4D  ;D

I have a (hopefully) simple question. When downloading the 'dependencies' for the CAM Starter packs, there are some dependencies that in actual fact the BATs themselves. When adding them to my Plugins folder, should I be adding ALL of the files they contain (from either SC4D or Simtropolis) or should I ONLY be adding the .SC4Model files??

Cheers.

From my memory, you can install everything then run cleanitol with the proper file
You can find one attached to the 1st post in http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=1890.0 (there might be some others attached in this thread )
It is a long time, so I might be wrong, wait for someone more up to date

Divide wouanagaine by zero and you will in fact get one...one bad-ass that is - Alek King of SC4

That thread that wouanagaine is linking to contains all dependencies for props, textures and queries.
For the buildling models themselves, let me refer to another thread, by quoting the essential part from it:

In order to avoid having brown boxes, you need the model that goes with the lot.

If the Model File is included in a previously uploaded lot (on STEX or a Japanese site), you only need the file that contains the batted model from that upload. Normally this is a SC4Model file, but in some cases it might be a DAT file. In no cases will you need any SC4Lot files, SC4Desc files or custom queries contained in the original upload, or any dependencies mentioned for that upload.

Each model/prop pack comes with a BSC Cleanitol™ file, which will help you remove old superfluous model files.
Please use that to ensure that you do not have duplicates of any models.

There are a few "starter packs" with a good selection of various CAMeLots available on the LEX:

          CAM Residentials BSC
          CAM Commercial Offices BSC
          CAM Commercial Services BSC
          CAM Industrials BSC
          CAM Stage 6 & 7 Farms BSC

If you have old non-CAMpatible lots that are using models included in these starter packs, you can use the CAM Remove Lots BSC Cleanitol to remove them.

Other dependencies, like Textures, Props and Queries for these starter packs are listed in the CAMeLots - Dependencies thread.
You need to make sure you have all Texture dependencies, otherwise you will have lots that are lacking textures.
Even if you are lacking one of the Prop dependencies, your CAMeLots will still function. You would only have some missing props, but no brown boxes.
The queries for the CAMeLots are all contained in the BSC Essentials.

Welcome Tage, I'm very happy that you are still active. I guess you will have something new to surprise me and everyone else.

LOL, thanks mate!
I wish that too... don't count too much on my return yet though...
I'm only slowly catching up and looking around at the moment. :)

Thanks for all the help.

So to summaries - using the "CAM Remove Lots BSC Cleanitol" will get rid of the unwanted lots and desc files?

jmyers2043

Yes. Use the clean-it-all first. That removes the non CAM files. Then click to install the CAMeLOTs.
