I have recently been using Vitimus's SimCity 4 launcher (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=15829.0) to launch SimCity. I was using the custom directory feature which basically just adds -UserDir:"C:\xxx\yyy\zzz\" when the game is run. I use this to easily switch between vanilla and moded sc4. However, I noticed that now whenever I launch SimCity it defaults the region view to Timbuktu, and all of the settings are on their defaults.

It seems that SimCity 4.cfg is not being updated or read properly. Each of the UserDir's has it's own SimCity 4.cfg file. If anyone knows of some other way of switching "profiles" I'll appreciate it.

However, I'm also interested in how the SimCity 4.cfg file actually works. I've come across http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=CFG but my SimCity 4.cfg file is only 280 bytes long. Does anyone actually know what the bytes are?
