This is what I was talking about, sharing the tracks:

Same place, tracks upgrade with a viaduct. That was needed with the large amount of trains at this spot.

So far I got 3 different trains in game at the same time.

- One replacement mod for the steam engine
- One replacement mod for the freight engine
- One additional mod, freight engine.

Have got 6 different skins in the game to show at the same time:

Burlington, Reading Lines and Great Northern. It takes its time to mod all these trains.

As it is, you can pick more than one, as you can see from the first picture on this page.  ;D

APSMS

Will a passenger version be available?

These look just excellent in-game, btw.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

At first it will just be replacement mods for freight and steam engine (also freight trains) and additional mods for freight engine.

Thought it was enough mods, but again:

Great Northern Railway.

The color of top and stripe is really hard to figur out. It goes from everything from brown to green. Even on the same unit.
Here is two picture of the big Husle Muscle GN 400:

Try to do a unit with "washed" out / weathering colors. What do you think ?

No one ?

Been modding and making icons:

just popping in time to time to see the rail yard progress with more locomotives  ::) ... expecting to find it on the LEX soon and then hoping the 'log-on' troubles  :'(  I am dealing with are fixed by then...   ;) :)

Wow, just caught glimse of this thread and had to stop and give a huge thanks for all your hard work and to say how great these new freight trains look too. I'm about to dump my old automata for your GLR/Rail/Monorail trains, not yet installed but the pictures are enough to tell the story. Really fantastic stuff, this has made my day, and now I can kill the ugly freight trains as well before too long.

Two more mods....

Blood nose. Original a South Pacific color scheme, but St. Louis Southwestern Railway, know as Cotton Belt.
It was bought by South Pacific, but continued to operate as a separate company until 1992.

Burlington Northern.

Done with all the modding, more or less.

Good looking trains Vester.  Just gotta say I love all of your trains and trams.

I like the Great Northern and Burlington Northern. I will be checking them out asap. Well done!

Thank you. Glad you like them.

Mike: Love you work as well.

Have desaturation the first Northern Pacific to make it more like the real one:

Old

Still trying to get the darker color right on the Great Northern:

The old one in the top left corner.

Lean toward the darker on in the bottom left corner.  What do you think ?

Here is all the readme pictures into one big pic:

Has taken the Metro North skin out of the package and add a new Missouri Pacific.
Updated the picture above.

My first try.

The finish mod.

Welll thought the first one was good, so both will show up when installing the MP2 as an additional mod. :)

At the moment I am working on the readme and is about to start on the installer script(s).

Don't worry, the Metro North skin will not go to waste. It will be added to a passenger train package later.

Of the Great Northern versions, I think the bottom left is the best. The new Missouri Pacific is a nice addition as well. I think someone wanting to re-create a North American rail system would be hard pressed to pick an area of the continent that wasn't represented by at least one of these lines.

Arne,

Absolutely fantastic work!  I love how you brought together so many different train skins and nothing looks repetitive.

On another note it should be getting warmer in a month or two and I promised I would go out and get you some photos.  Soon hopefully since I want to BAT a building or two.

Thank you Mark.

Still doing a little of correcting in-between the script editing.
Got a installer script of around 800-900 lines :P

Here is a picture from one of my industrial area:

Got a little tired of seeing Maxis freight cars, so add some custom mods.
Also got tired of seeing the trains, run the front to the back of the train in-front, so I made a small mod I calls Caboose-be-Gone. :)
This make the caboose invisible and there by make some room behind the freight trains.

Jack_wilds

liking the progress... I don't have anything to report as its appears you are on top it  ;)... anticipation grows for teh finished package  :)
