Fred, sorry about the det....  :bomb:

I like your suggestion. A prop family will be great. We'll do that!

Oh, and sorry almost forgot: the stripes are good. They give just that little touch of perfection.

I did some modeling this evening and came up with the first Model of three, maybe four for FrankU's Reward lot.

Details are all done and the texturing is about right too, looks fairly good ingame also. Any comments?

Fred

EDIT: I made this different shaped texture, seen something like it on some lighthouses while doing a search on Bing Images. What about it?

Ok, here they are, just waiting for some comments and I will release these 5 lighthouses of the same model, but with slight differences in details and texture, at the same time as FrankU will release his Lighthouse Reward(s).

The Nexis Lighthouse Model 4  will be uploaded as a Proppack for everyone to use and make their own lots as they wish. Maybe, just maybe, there will be another pack out sometime. I still have 4 other lighthouse Models (Model 1 to 5) out in my gmax folder, which are waiting to be finished. All are completely different models.
But first I will be back on the MFP1.... ;)

I decided to create 5 different textures for an excellent choice of creating a family or use them individually. Hope you like them all. ;)

FrankU If you give me the "green" ligth, I will send the model datfile to you this weekend. All there is left to do is the render.

luv the set, the better textures and the new patterns...

FrankU

GREEN LIGHT..........GREEN LIGHT......... Flashing virgourously...

Fred, the set exceeds all my expectations. The textures are fantastic. Send them, send them!

This weekend is full of festvities; my daugther turned 10 on friday. At this moment her friends are in the house, tomorrow we expect grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts...
No time for lotting. I guess somewhere next week I can finish the lighthouse reward.

Fred, did you read my request about the lighthouses? Could it be done without too much trouble?

mrbisonm

Well, I'm having a big weekend also, at least for today and tomorrow (sunday) morning. It's the first day since Christmas that we have temperatures over -15C.

Yes' I have read your message about the "footprint" (foundations). Unfortunetly after I have finished the models. So, here is what I will do (or at least try). I will extend those "basments" for 16 or more meters, so you place them on unlevel terrain, if it works fine, if not, you will have to make these props a building and use foundations, or mention that these can be plopped on level terrain only if you make props with them. Honestly, I do not feel like starting all over again from scrap. No time for this and I am still working on that MFP1 Project, remember?.

I hope I will come up with something (I usually do). ;)
Glad you like them, spent several evenings on them to finish, also glad that I already had made the model.....:) (btw, I made the model in 2009 and not in 2006 as I expected) Interested in the other models one day (not soon)? I still have 4 more, completely different ones.

Happy 10th Birthday to your daughter, tell her, they come from Canada.....lol

Hi Fred,

We are experiencing the first days of summer, I can say. Yesterday afternoon temperatures rose to around +15 0C, with sun and hardly wind. Yesterday evening around 19:30 we still could go out without a coat.

Do what you can or like with my request concerning the base. I also thought: maybe you make one prop that extends the cylinder shape underground. Some generic concrete texture. And I put it under the towers.
But if you don't feel like it or indeed want to spend your time on the MFP1, so please leave the thing alone. I certainly will be able to find another solution.

And I am certain that enough people will be interested in the other 4 models. But we can wait. Let's finish this one and then go on with the other projects!

I was thinking to make 5 lighthouse lots: one for each variation. I don't know.
As long as the MFP1 is not finished I have time for the Rewards.

mrbisonm

I spent several hours yesterday and today to find a way to make a "foundation" attached to the mainmodel, but always came up with some problems, one big one was, where do I put the entrance door.... etc.
Anyways, instead of making my life miserable and too complicated, I decided to make a simple base to support the models. This model will fit all of them and can be placed under the maintower in LE.
Don't worry, it was poured in concrete and is more than solid enough to hold any Lighthouse tower. ;)

So, this will simply have to do for the moment, maybe later I find a way to make real foundations. Meanwhile make sure to plop the lots on stable and flat land and mention it to downloaders.

The tower has glasswalls on top, so that the light can be seen. Maxis has the light for the lighthouse, use that one and insert it as much as possible into the right place shown on the picture below. I even made a base in there to hold the light....lol.....(don't use woodscrews though)

The five models (shown in an above post) and the foundation have been "finetuned" and are ready to be rendered, which I will do tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) I will then PM you the zippyshare link for them. Hope to see nice lots in your thread.

This is a Nexis_prop datfile, which I will upload to the STEX and LEX at the same time as you will publish your lots, or a little earlier. Do not include this propfile with your upload. These files will become a part of a Nexis Mega Building Prop pack one day.

I will continue with my sheds for the MFP1 this week. I will soon have a hundred and plus models to render......oh my.......

Hi Fred,

All clear and understood!

The base looks gorgeous and I think it is a simple solution to the problem. Although..... if it took you several hours it can't be called simple.

I hope I will find time to do the lotting. My mother is still in our house. She lives a bit further away (3 hours by train, we call that far away) and visits us several times a year and then she stays for three or four days. As you can understand I do not take too much time behind the computer those days.

Frank

mrbisonm

No problem. I will render them this evening and you'll have them by tomorrow (Wednesday)

A day of gmaxing and I finished my standing silos. Groundsilos were finished earlier and I have shown these, so need to now.

I made  more than a hundred models and a few of these are shown below, but there will be less than half in the pack though. I have been working on these on/off for the last 50 to 60 days.

Now the following sets of the MFP1 are done:(testing needed)

Mainbuildings (some of them can be used as industrial sheds)
     Groundsilos
     Standing Silos (as seen below)
Manure piles and silos/sheds and holes
     Purin bassins and tanks
     Machinery and Implements

..... all there's left are the Machinery Sheds and the Hay and straw sheds/bales/piles and barns. Luckily though most of it is almost finished, only about 20 % is still to be done, or may I say, on the way to be done. One more small category is almost done also, which are some fences/gates.

Tomorrow, I have another afternoon/evening off, they say we will have another 25 cm snowstorm (as if we don't have enough of that whit sh*t yet), so I will try to continue my sheds, which isone of the two last categories for the MFP1. It shouldn't be long now to finally see the end.
Included are many surprises. ;)

Fred

Freed,

They are great!
You know that if you want to have some of them tested you just send them to me, right?

25 cm of snow? Now you surely do not what to know what the weather was here today...... The girls next door took their small boat and dropped it into the pond we have nearby. The rowed half the afternoon with hardly more clothing than a t-shirt and  shorts. My son walked barefoot all day.
I think we had about 23oC and sun. The first day of summer I'd say. Sorry if that makes you jealous!

Edit: typo's

Don't tease me with that beautiful weather you folks have down there, because I will install a big blower and send some of ours your way. Yap, we just received 25 cm of new snow, that's on top of those 4 feet that we already had. Now the farmfences in the fields are hardly seeable anymore because the height of the snow equals the height of the fenceposts. Damn, are we all sick of it, this isn't normal, nor is yours.......Anywyas, I think my wife and I are will be going to NZ in a week or so, there the weather is beautiful too and hunting season is about to start (red stags/Rothirsche)

Anyway, by testing, I mean pretesting, just to see if they rendered correctly. Remember the problem we had with two mainbuildings that were rendered only partially? Well, that I will test. Then, it'll be you turn to test them ingame, concerning their shape, tetxture and scale. (if you don't mind)

BTW, I will send you the first "load" of props next weekend to test. ;) And then others not much later.

Glad you like the silos, some good ones in there.

Fred

OK, I'll keep silent about our indeed also quite unnormal weather.

NZ? Nice! When I'm old and rich I'll go there too some day.

And yes, please send in the props!

Here I have the Lighthouse lots made with your models.
I will show them also in my Lot thread, where the whole history of these lots are to be found. Otherwise people will not find me anymore.
But now that I am here already:

Lighthouse 1 for the rural areas
See the foundation? It's dedicated for this lot.

And

Lighthouse 2 for the seaport areas

The five lighthouse models show up randomly. So if you desire a certain one you need to use the cheat "you don't deserve it".
Hmmm, hey, funny. No shadow for the lighthouse itself?
No worries, that's only some strage flaw I find in this particular city. In other cities the shadows are all right. Don't ask me what's going on. I hope it's not abundant.

mrbisonm

Nice! I like your "new" house foundation, looks like a patio. The shadow is strange though, do you know what the cause is?....or could be?
Nice work, Frank.

I dearly recommend it, at least to see this "strange" and "out of this world" place for once. My wife prefers the Northern island, I like the southern island, so raw, savage and beautiful.

Found a few problems with some silos tonight, I will have to re-render them, nothing serious though. Maybe I have too much stuff in the gmax folders...... ;)

Fred

FrankU

The shadow?
Yeah, now that you point at it. I see the house has no shadow on the foundation, but both together have a shadow on the ground. That one looks OK to me.
And at night all props, buildings, houses, objects have shadows too. Maybe it's better to ingore the shadows altogether? How much headaches they cost!

I have been to Iceland. Beautiful in it's rawness.

Ok, it is the turn of the Hay/Straw set that is now finished. This set contains, Sheds, Barns, hay and straw Piles and Stacks, loose hay and straw, single bales of both round and boxed of all sorts.
Below is a small sample of what this set contains.

Machinery and Machinery Sheds will be done by the weekend, the last of all 8 MFP1 Sets. Then it will be a short testing of them all, maybe some re-rendering and then off to Frank, probably one by one, not to "kill" him with one shot. ;) Now I'm tired of Gmax for today.

A picture of each complete Set models will be uploaded in my Nexis Thread, once the MFP1 (with all 8 sets)  becomes available.

c.p.

Excellent.  I love the detail work you did with the tarps on the haybales, and the details you put into the barns too.
