Thanks Jack_Wilds, vortext, Aaron, Arne, Simcoug, metarvo, and kelis :)

Simcoug: I've made the extra variations already  ;D

metarvo: I was considering placing the residentials on the industrial lot, mainly as eye-candy.  A lot of the large mills built in the US between 1820 and 1870 included workers housing.  But, of course it would be better if the residential buildings actually had residents. &Thk/(
Also, it is possible to plop residential.  There is a fairly high chance that it will abandon, but sometimes it doesn't (at least this is true of low wealth).  And these models are made to abandon (and to look interesting abandoned.)  So I''m actually considering this as well. &mmm

Here is Spindler's Mill, a dirty industrial complex.  Many of the larger textile mills built in the U.S in the 1820's and 1830's appear to have had a design similar to the large mill building here:

Ortho version:

FAR-2 version.  The piece with the smokestack is modded as a power plant.  The the mill and warehouse are ploppable ID:

Ortho version, showing how it fits in with Jestarr's industrials, etc:

FAR-2 version showing how it fits into it's neghborhood:

Great work.   &apls &apls &apls

So how does the FAR lots work ?

Is it overhanging models or ?

Thanks Simcoug, Guglielmo, Art, Arne, vortext, and Willy :)

Simcoug: Your project sounds great, but I'm not seeing any pictures (just red Xs). :'(

Arne:  Yes, most of the FAR lots have overhanging building props.  (The buildings on all of the lots are props, in order to abandon).  The big mill overhangs a couple of tiles on each end.

Here is a smaller ID mill, Gristburg Mill, loosely based on a mid-19th century mill somewhere in Michigan:

In-game FAR-3:

The buildings in the upper right are a semi-rural FAR-3 ploppable IM lot, which uses the garages from the Bulkington, and the FAR-3 versions of an R$$ house (the Melville).

Here is a CO$$ corner office building, W2W-friendly:

I love your work, I really, really love your work and can't say that enough!

Thank you very much for sharing it with us, and for allowing my cities to be littered with it! ;)

This looks really awesome and I can't wait to see them in-game in my cities!

The FAR industrials are fantastic.  They really look at home along the FAR roads!

I think you mentioned that you were creating some props to go along with these buildings.  If so, were you going to include FAR versions of those as well?  I've created a number of diagonal and FAR lots and the lack of similarly oriented props can make filling out the lot a bit of a challenge (although you've included a number of great diagonal props in your prop packs, so thank you for those).

That's a bummer.  You could try a different web browser if you have one, or sometimes you can open those pictures in a separate window and just remove the 's' from the 'https' address.  I have heard that some older browsers don't play well with dropbox addresses.

You could also take a look through krashspeed's BAT thread starting around here for a more detailed look at the project  :)

vortext

It's amazing to see everything running parallel as if far3 were just an orthogonal direction! Which it actually is of course, just not according to sc standards.

Anyway, great work! It'll be a literal game changer when this is all released!  &apls

Amazing FAR work. Looks very realistic and is much needed. We have the networks but not what to build around &apls

Your creations are always stunning and innovative  :)

If you've dabbled with the community's custom content, whether it's a terrain mod, or historic buildings, chances are good you've probably run across the works of this months OSITM feature. c.p. has brought a number of fine creations to the game, and this month we'll see what he has in store here.

Congrats on OSITM award, CP! Looking forward to your work this month. :)
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

Thank you.  Hopefully, I can come up with some good updates this month :)

For starters, here is a small upload to the LEX:

It is an I-d wagon repair shop.  There is a growable and ploppable version, as well as a farm lot that uses it as a barn.

Thanks M4346, Simcoug, vortext, Kergelen, Matt and Art :)

Simcoug: The three main prop packs are all clumps of trees and shrubs (replacements for my old CPT8 and CPT9 packs, as well as one other).  I also made part of a set of fence props, but I'm not sure how I'll go about releasing those yet.  Everything but the fences is too amorphous to have an orientation to it.

Jack_wilds

congrats on the month award it is well earned, for the work you have given our sim cities to be all the better to play with

wish I could get the offering from the LEX but I have been having log-in issues fr months now and I still am unable to fully access anything...

expecting and anticipating that all your projects see the light of day

Simcoug

Wonderful, thanks for the little shop!  I'm excited to see the updated flora.  The new fence props sound excellent too.  I can't wait to see what you have in store for us this month ;D

Thanks vortext, Jack_Wilds, and Simcoug :)

So here is a new building I'm working on, for release this month - Thwackmore Elementary School:

I don't know if the abandoned versions will be useful for anything.
Also, I'm trying to decide whether I should try to mod the FAR-2 version as a private school, or as a CO$$$ ploppable.  Any preferences?

M4346

Yay! I love the high school, and this will make a great addition!

I personally would prefer a private school for the FAR, as I stay clear of ploppable RCIs :)

C.P., congratulations on the OSITM award.
The standard of your creations is incredibly high.
I would also vote for a high school to the new farc building.
Cheers.

Congratulations on OSITM  &apls  With all this tremendous work and detail and the huge contributions you've made to the community over the years you're certainly a most deserving choice! The recent projects are looking excellent!

Loving your new industrials. And congrats on the OSITM!  :)
