G'day,

I recently purchased SimCity4 Deluxe on CD from Amazon and it installed as version 1.1.613.  When I tried to install the NAM modification I was informed that the game needed to be patched to v1.1.638.  I tried to do this but the patch would not install.  An error message appeared that stated "Old File not found.  However a file of the same name was found.  No update done since file contents do not match".  I have tried many times and many ways and the patch will not install.  Any and all help with this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks up front.  Oh, I live in France.

Well, from what I can gather, this seems to be a fairly well known problem without a solution.  About the only advice that I can find is, "Ask for a refund and look for a patched version elsewhere".  I did find v1.1.641 at Gog and that is supposed to be a fully patched version and Amazon has always been pretty good about refunds, so I guess I'll do that.

Did you try the SKU1 patch or the SKU2? Version 1.1.613 is the 'Euro' version that requires the SKU2 patch.

I tried 'em all.  For whatever reason, the version that I had will not accept the patch.  That same error message pops up no matter what.  No matter, I downloaded v1.1.641 and it works perfectly.  Now if Amazon refunds me for the CD that I bought all will be peachy.
