Using the extracheats plugin, I noticed that both of the above are commands that you can enter.

What, if any, differences are there in the two commands?

buildingplop lets you select a building first (the list contains every building) and then the lot you want.

lotplop only lets you choose the lot (the list contains all lots for every building)

Basically both let you do the same, but buildingplop might be easier to handle because the list is shorter.

BuildingPlop is the only one I tend to use for two good reasons. First it remembers the item position of the previous time you used it, so if you are plopping more than one it's far easier as you don't need find your place in the list again. Secondly with LotPlop say I plop a commercial building with different shop brands as a family, I will only ever get one brand of shop. In BuildingPlop each individual building is available to select so I can use the variations available.

Thanks to both of you for the clarification.  Definitely sounds like buildingplop is the better choice in most cases
