Recently obliterated a prop poxed city and quit game. Returning to the game this afternoon the obliterated city is clearly gone in region view but all of my trees remain?
Open the tile and look around, there are no structures of any kind but all god and mayor mode trees remain? Also, terraforming from the original city remains and all of my neighbor connections are intact? The game does ask me to name the city and there is no evidence of the old city in the region folder.
Is this normal??

When you obliterate a city, it just destroys all signs of civilization. Meaning that trees, landscaping and all such will remain in the city. :)
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

dirguru,

One must completely delete the city and start over from scratch.  The lesson I learned is that when it comes to Prop Plox,  when one downloads a building or anything, and the creators make a change to the item you downloaded and when one opens the city, the game sees the building, but there is an error for the update that game cannot see.

I was I have solved this is again to delete the city in the region view and start over again from scratch.  I am now VERY cautions downloading something I all ready have and back up EVERYTHING ROUTINELY.

Finally as you may already know, another was to avoid prop plox is to change you map sizes to any size other than the largest.

Good luck and you will now feel my pain.

Thank you Art, that answers my question. Did a lot of research on the subject but no post obliteration info. So now I am good to go.

dyoungyn,

I do feel your pain but I have no one to blame but myself as I was aware of the issue as well as the cause which has since been removed from my plugins.
I was attempting to get some late stage maxis euro tile buildings to grow so I hastily removed the maxis blocker that I had in my plugins. As soon as I opened the city I realized my mistake. :angrymore:
I do have pre pox backups which I may still use but for now I want to experiment with some different terraforming ideas I have for my CBD. Since all of my neighbor connections remain I am good to go.
I do have a test region and also create backups regularly. None of my other city tiles are infected according to the Reader.
All 52 of my city tiles are large. currently four of them contain over 150,000 sims. Have been running mostly trouble free on separate hardrive for 3 years except for occasional CTD but I will surely be on the lookout.
I have returned the Maxis blocker to my plugins and will instead make static landmarks and or parks with the Maxis content I want to use.
