I have no idea why but the backyards make me think about Japanese houses  ()what() Anyway - you did a wonderful job  All "add-ons" look great :)

And old Ford Model T... what I would give to have Cadillac v63 or Renault Enclosed Limousine in game  ;D

romualdillo

seraf: Thank you!!! You're right, they look Japanese. Perhaps they look so because of the natural wood structures, I don't know. About the car, there's a long way until something is finished, but I'll remember the Cadillac and Renault...  :D

Now, new orchards. I think I'm going to do some more and add two or three clothes lines. If everything looks right I'll add them to the 1x2 lots.

I hope you like them!!

kelis

The day that all those W2W buildings are available I'm not sure If I could resist without make a Spanish region...They are really nice !!

awesome - I love the variety!  These will  be great for lotters as well (prop families are a favorite  of mine  :) )

Seems like I've missed a few of your updates, but I can only say I'm overwhelmed. Not only have you done much good work, it's also very rich in detail and very versatile. And you've been adding stuff that has really been missing since the day SC4 was born.

vortext

Seem to have missed a couple of updates as well, great work with the model T! &apls

Needless to say I'd love to see more cars of this era. The little planters for the backyards are neat, too, though I have to ask if they're seasonal? If not, I hope you'll consider making seasonal variety, bit unrealistic imho to see flowering crops all year round. At any rate, keep up the great work!

kelis: Thank you!!! :D I'd like to see it!!! (Tengo unas ganas de terminar ya... $%Grinno$%)

Simcoug: Thank you!!! Props are as important as the buildings on a lot, so I'm trying to do my best...  ;D

11241036: Thank you!!! I try to make them as versatile as possible. I'm glad you like them!!!

vortext: Thank you!!! I've thought about making them seasonal, but I want them to be in a prop family. The only thing I could do is making them semi-seasonal. (Unless there was a way to make them really seasonal, but I don't know how... ()what())

Now the last orchards:

And clothes lines:

I hope you like them!!! These are the last pieces for the backyards' bottoms. I've thought about adding some trees to the family. Do you have any HD suggestion? (I'm searching for HD date palms, but I haven't found any). Meanwhile I'll try to make the orchards seasonal.

Simcoug

Great!  I love the outdoor oven - I think that might be a first for SC4
For the planter beds, I think semi-seasonal would be fine (Dead for winter/fall and crops in spring/summer)  No need to over do it.  More slope tolerant planter beds is a win in my book :)

romualdillo

I'm glad you like them!!!

Well, after an intensive class about vegetables' growth and another about timed props, I've done this:

Tomatoes appear between April and October
Lettuces (green and red): March - November
Cabbages: January - May, July - November
Chard: January - March, May - July, September - November
China Cabbages: January - March, May - July, September - November
Carrots: January - March, May - July, September - November
Cucumbers: May - November
Pumpkins: May - November
Potatoes: April - September

I hope you like them!!!!!

vortext

&apls &apls

Though perhaps. .  ::)  also make shaded versions? Like CP did with his planters so they don't stand out as much when placed in the shadows, like is the case now with the walls. But regardless I'm definitely gonna put these to good use!

Thank you!!! I tried to make 30cm high LODs, but they were often covered by the ground on the slopes and I had to do higher ones.

Now I have a doubt. I've been thinking about it, as the most important part of the orchards are the plants. I didn't know how to model them by myself so I downloaded the original models from the 3d Warehouse, and adapted them to my purposes (sizes, proportions and textures) even modifying the 3d model. None of those actions are against the Terms of Use of that page (even uploading the final model), but I don't know if that could create a conflict here. I'm supposed to be responsible of everything I upload and I don't want any copyright problem, here or in other pages, and I don't want to appropriate others' work. I've read the Site Rules and I couldn't find anything about that. So, the questions are: Should I upload them? Should I credit the original model's authors? Or, shouldn't I upload them at all, and keep them for myself? I didn't think about that when doing the models, as I usually download other things for other purposes and never faced a problem like this.  ()what()

Now, a new object with the same issue. I couldn't find any HD palm, so I rendered one by myself. This is the original model. I've changed its propotions and improved textures and modelling (I hope so). I hope you like it, and if you know something I could do to improve it, please tell!!

noahclem

Your work with the details, including all the props recently, has been really exceptional. The lots are looking excellent  &apls

romualdillo

Thank you Noah!!!

I've been working on the backyard props. I can say that the 1x2 and 2x2 simple version of the lots are finished. I still have to do the props for the 1x3 and 2x3 lots. I've done 6 different families based on props' variations. I hope you like them:

When I got bored of working on the props, I continued working on the cars. If you remember, vester pointed that the car looked ridiculous without a driver.

My first intention was using the driver "effect" of the pink convertible or the bikes, but I didn't know how. He suggested asking rivit about it. I did, and he could introduce the drivers into the car. (I still don't know how, he is the master  :o). But the result wasn't very successful... The driver didn't fit in the car:

So I had to work on the driver model... That was easy, but texturing it was a nightmare!!! But finally I could... and I made different versions... They're not an effect, they're part of the 3ds model, but I think they work. I hope you like them. All of them are driveable (in fact, it is the start of an override mod).

As always I accept suggestions and critics. I can try to upload the cars and the 1x2 and 2x2 lots, if you don't want to wait until I finish the 1x3 and 2x3. What do you think?

11241036

Seems you've done a good job with the buildings. Imo please take the time you need for making them, I think this is better than uploading a half-finished product. I've only spotted one issue (although I'm not sure if that's probably just my imagination): On the second-to-last picture with the houses, the palm seems to grow inside the wooden cabin or the wall. You might want to fix that, although since I have no skills in batting whatsoever, I have no clue how to fix it.

Do you plan on adding other trees to your lots? If yes, I found this little mediterranean gem on the LEX.

The little cars are so neat!!  &apls

And in ultra-HD or something? Looks really great. The props are great, too, and I don't mind waiting for the larger lots to be finished.

Wow, these turned out phenomenal  &apls &apls  The automata is brilliant and the driver solution turned out excellently. I'll leave it up to you whether to release all together or with the finished lots earlier though I'm certainly eager to have a look at them in game ;)  K-point for all your efforts here!

reddonquixote

So much work... its really amazing! Well done
Pay heed to the tales of old wives. It may well be that they alone keep in memory what it was once needful for the wise to know.

Simcoug

Amazing!  I really hope you can release the cars as prop files too, they would be extremely useful for using on lots.

romualdillo

First of all, I hope it is not too late to say thanks for all the K-points: Thanks to Sim.Rico (and Tarkus and catty for accepting his requests), art128 and noahclem. I don't know if it's the right way, but I wanted to do something.
It's incredible to see how the members have so much confidence in me, although I haven't released anything yet.

Thank you very much!!! I hope not to disappoint you in any way!  :-[

Now the replies:

11241036: Thank you!!! Yes, I plan to use other trees, and girafe's ones are at the top of my list.

vortext: Thank you!!!  :D Well, they were not meant to be ultra HD, but as they are "real" 3D models and not rendered ones, they have their original textures.

noahclem: Thank you!!!

reddonquixote: Thank you!!!

Simcoug: Thank you!!! I'll release the cars as props, too. (Still a lot of work to do)

Now, something different. I did a streetlamp model and then I used MandelSoft's light cones to light it up. His work makes the game look totally different at night, it's incredible!! I couldn't resist to show you this image:

The streetlamps will be added to the "complete" lot version (yes, they are on the lots  :P) I hope you like them!!!
