hi guys and gals. i need some help regarging datpacker. basically my disk space on my laptop is extremely low due to the amount of plugins i have and i really dont want to lose and as i use all of them. if i use datpacker on my plugins folder will it condense the file size to a smaller one? any help appreciated. p.s. ive done the usual pc space freeing stuff

If I remember right, the datpacker don't compress the files as such. Packing plug-ins into one file, faster game loading is achieved.

Dakpacker will compress files if the Optimize Space option is checked.

The caveat of course is that datpacker will create a new .dat file of the files being packed. This means that you will generally need twice the amount of space to complete a datpacking, since the new .dat file is roughly the same size as the aggregate total of the files being packed.

In short, it's not really a space saving tool. It's more meant to keep your game running/loading quickly. The best advice would be to invest in a new Hard Drive, since it sounds like you are going to need one anyways if you plan on using the computer for other stuff.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
