Here is a little something new:

compdude787

Looks quite fancy! Is that going to be a train station? Such a thing would be quite appropriate coming from you. After all, our sims need a place to board Vester's trains.

Interesting... It could be something totally post-mo, or something from the 1910's (some sort of Secession influenced building). Now I want to know more!!

vester

That is nice guess romualdillo. The building is from 1909. Its an industrial building in Chicago:

Simcoug

nice!  Early Chicago industrial building is right up my alley  ;D

Simmer2

Nicely done  &apls &apls

I have a city or two that could use more of these early century buildings!

Excellent! Love to see more of this style. Would suit my merchant districts perfectly.

Thank you all.

It is The W. M. Hoyt Company Building, 465 W. Cermak Road, Chicago:

At the moment I am still working on the first column(s) next the entrace:

So far the model is symmentri over the entrace.
When I am doing with the one column I will copy it out the other 4.

This facade (toward W. Cermak Rd) is set under an angle:

(As always click on the images to enlarge them.)

Still consider how to adapt it to the game.

romualdillo

Great building! Are you going to model it as a 45º corner?

c.p.

The model is looking good so far.  Great choice of a building to bat.

A lot of reusing elements:

5 objects in all.

Corrected a few mistakes, that was done the fist time around.

Been trying to find some old pictures of the building from its first, say, 30-50 years.  BUT no luck so far.
If anyone could give it a try, please do.

c.p. + romualdillo: Thank you both.

romualdillo: Still an open option how to do the angle of that facade.

vester

Thank you Matt. Have found them myself.

romualdillo: Is this what you thought of ? ( or is it just a 90° corner ? )

reddonquixote

Great choice of building and you're doing a great job with it so far, keep it up  ;D

Noticed that I had add an extra depth to the pilasters on the corner I corrected that:

romualdillo: ... or is this what you mean with 45° corner:

(again the facade on the left is still just more or less a copy of the other facade)

Happy New Year everybody!

Simmer2

Great example of early century Chicago architectural prowess. &apls
Your rendition is awesome!!!

TY, Simmer.

Had some computer problems, coursing Max to stop work. Reinstall to no avail.
A complete uninstalment and a new instalment did the trick, but it toooooook for ever ! ! ! ! !

Started to work on the facade with the loading ducks. The facade to the left in the previous post:

This is builded up of 8 unique element. The rest is going to be instances of the others.
Most elements are going from centre to centre of the columns.
