I found some pics I had taken of my hometown in Ireland and thought you might like to see some of them.

Bandon River weir at the west end of town.

From street level

Where previous pic was taken from

Methodist Church

Catholic Church that dominates the skyline

Bandon Bridge

A view from the top of the local Courthouse with the Protestant Cathedral in background.

Looking up the hill towards the Courthouse (To the left of this shot)

A local road sign

Main Street

Views from the top of the steps that lead to the catholic Church

Hope you all enjoyed these shots. I shall get some better ones when I go home next.
But this is all I could find at the mo.

Congratulations Mr Parliamentary!  ;D

Very nice pictures of your hometown - great river and suburbs (I like first two pictures very much)
Bandon Bridge is also great, and the view through the circle-shaped window is beautiful.
Some views are a bit sad (maybe because of cloudy weather), but all town looks very nice and quiet.
I like colors of buildings - they add some scandinavian climate (in my opinion) and put some good humour  :)
I'm sure there are many nice pubs here  :D

Oh my god! That's hideous! My EYES! Oh my god my poor eyes!!!

NAH, Kidding. One of the most beautiful small towns I've yet seen, ones in America are so boring.
The most astounding and unique aspect of the human race is our fervent application of our ingenuity to kill each other, thus completely defying the near-universally proven fact that the ultimate goal of a member of a species is to ensure the survival of the species.

Ennedi: Thank you very much. I got a lovely new comfortable cushion for my promotion ;D
it a fabulous place to watch the salmon heading upstream to spawn. Hundreds of them leaping all over the place and it all protected too. No FISHING without a very very very bloody impossibly hard to get hold of permit. If you get caught you better make sure you won the lottery to pay the fine!

Sad views cloudy weather ???? that was a good day. LOL it stayed dry that day. It rains on average 300 days a year in Ireland. You can have all four seasons in one day there and I have experienced that many times getting caught out in it on my bike

The colours really brighten the place up and as for pubs well at once stage (before smoking ban) there were 100 pubs  and 3000 local residents Hmmm 30 people per pub on average - ah quick service :D now its down to about 60 pubs and 5000 residents. All pubs are nice there :D :D :D

Patfirefghtr: Cheers dude  Lots of rain (see above) means lots of green grass for the cows :D

FromTheAshes: Pretty small but growing all the time :D you can walk from one end of town to the other in about 10 mins.

Flame1396: Sorry should have put a beauty warning on the post ;D . Its quite steeped in history too with some fierce battles between the Irish Republican Army and the British forces back in the early part of the 20thC ( That being the OLD IRA and not the terrorist organization of the latter part of the 20thC) when Ireland was struggling to become an Independent Nation in its own right.

I shall get more pics next time and show you all. Hopefully that wont be too long - it'd be nice to get home for a few days even :)

Do I see some Guinness-signs :o And in Ireland :o But Irish people don't drink beer, atleast NOT Guinness :o :o

I'm shocked how beautiful village that is, and I can imagine myself drinking some Guinness. And the bridge looks nice, I haven't bridges like that in Finland, or atleast not many  &mmm

A very beautiful town indeed.   I love the vivid colors on some of the buildings.   It looks like it has been there for a long time.   (That is a compliment, BTW)    I really love to see architecture like that.    I imagine all the stories of the people that have lived there.    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing those lovely pictures.  My favourite one is the first for sure.  Beautiful stream.  The house look very nice, must be alot of history there.  They look old, and very colourful.  The cathedral looks very nice.  I love cathedrals, the architecture is incredible.  I'd love to see more.
