Hey man, I downloaded a bunch of your industrial structures, and I noticed two things:

For some reason, my industrial growth has stopped.  Nothing wants to grow.  I downloaded the dependancy files, but nothing grows.  Do you have something within your files that blocks the growth of other industries?  I also noticed that your industrials structures are ploppable, but are they growable???  if I only want the growable variety, which files do I ditch (I hate cumbersome menus...).

Otherwise, you stuff looks absolutely beautiful.
I've got nothing.

Hey sobol.  The only thing that will stop industrial growth entirely, that I know of, is lack of demand.  That's the first thing to check.  The dependency files don't have anything to do with growth, they're for the "eye candy" portion of the lot.  As for custom content, I always use blockers to stop the Maxis stuff from growing.  You can get the blockers on the LEX.  They're also compatible with the CAM, when it's released.  All that said, BarbyW and Ripplejet (and almost anyone else for that matter) know, immeasurably, more about this than I. :D

Now, for my naming convention.  All my growable lots start with what they are (ID, IM, CO, etc.) and also indicate the growth stage (1,2,3, etc.).  The ploppables all start with my initials (jes).  So, if you don't want ploppables, just remove those.  Some of my lots are ploppable only.  Usually, these are lots that are transit enabled (mostly freight stations) or have canals incorporated in with the lot.  You'll have to peruse the readme's for info on those.  Cheers!

Thanks man.  I will look at the files to see what can be done.  Explain the custom comment question please.
I've got nothing.

Custom content is as follows - anything that is not maxis lots. Anything than is made by the BSC or any other team. I hope this clears up that question for you
I'm nutty and I Bat and they're coming for me with the white coats again

I understood what he meant by custom content, I was wondering if he put anything in his dat files to block the maxis content.  My industrial woes are very peculiar.
I've got nothing.

jestarr

Nope.  The Maxis blockers, on the LEX, are what I use.  There's nothing in any of my files able to block Maxis content.

If you plop a lot of Jestarr or any others stuff of the same category ID, IM, IH, etc..., it might overpass the demand, does making anything else on that category to stop growing until the demand for that, raises again. Check the RCI demand graphic during game play, to see how are you doing about demad on the different categories.

sobol

Weird.  I only plop landmarks and civic buildings.
I've got nothing.

sobol

OMG!!! what a noob mistake.  I completely forgot normal pollution. :-[

Oops.

I've got nothing.
