This will be fun to fix...

Okay, so I am making a tram modd that will spawn different types of trams at the same time, I have made the models all unique and the two types of trams spawn perfectly. However one is skinned and one is just a white box. This is because one tram hoggs all the texture IDs and directs them to its skin. ( only one skin will work at a time). Usually this could be fixed by changing the instances of the textures, but when I do that, I get the "the texture is not in this file" message.

For the reader, to be able to see and use a texture, you have to restart the reader after you have attached the fsh file.
When you have restarted then you can change the IID.

Do you mean by right-clicking the texture box and selecting "add texture from external file"? because I did that and after I restarted the reader nothing happened.

He means that you need to insert the FSH image into the DAT you are working with.

And you can change the ID's of the textures on the model, provided that you have FSH images with matching ID's in the DAT file.

I did that, but when I open the materials tab of the model and select a texture, right click it and select "change name/instance" and change the material ID and select it, it doesn't have a texture in it. Why is it doing this?

First insert the fsh file.
Then change the TGI's
Press apply and save
Then restart the reader
Now you can change the texture(s) on your model.

Does the 3d models have the same TGIs ?

Like to see what sub-files you have.
