BSC Regional Tracking Mod-Help

Leave it to Microsoft to sell us "Work in Progress" material. 

  The part that drives me nuts besides my issues is the PC companies like Gateway and Dell jumped on Vista in a heart beat and flushed XP.
   Yes they can install XP but at $$$.Microsoft is another way of saying The Mob.

there are more unhappy game playing vista users than happy game playing vista users lol. Even after they get around to SP1 or SP2 I wont be playing games on vista until i have to, and even then it might be better to get my games running under linux anyway, probably more stable then vista ever will be at any rate.

Yes I have been running Vista for about 10 months now and i like it.
I have run the BSC Tracker for about 6 weeks with no problems. I did a full reinstall of Vista about 2 weeks ago, Reinstalled SC4 Installed the tracker everything was fine until i installed C.A.M. then lost the tracker. I am just about to reinstall SC4 without C.A.M. and see how long the tracker runs for.
I'll let you Know what happens in a couple of days

daeley could you hold off investigating this for the moment if you see my log below i believe i may have in my hast have clicked on the wrong button.
As i was reinstalling i was thinking about what i had been doing.

19/03/08  08:15  Tracker working. 
                 In retrospect I believe I canceled the Tracker so it stopped tracking the cities i was building.
If i am right you can call me anything you want it will not be as bad as what i will call myself.

I too have lost the Regional Tracker mod since I went to Vista. Is there any definitive answer as to how I get it to work? It seems to have affected my city negatively as well. The city I had on xp was working great with the CAM and Regional tracker running. Now the demand has died everywhere and I havent built a single thing just started up the city.

please, any news? I have a problem with this beautiful plugin. CAM and region tracker didn't interfere at first, but then I had to start a new region (which I D/Led from the LEX) due to eternal commuters, and regional tracking mod didn't work anymore! it seems like the BSC_regionalcounter.dat file was deleted from the directory where it was installed.
I'm pretty sure I didn't remove it accidentally, because I located it in the program\maxis\sc4\plugins directory, along with the CAM, olympic terrain MOD and a few other little file (with no DATpacker), while all the other plugins are installed in the \documents\simcity 4\plugins directory (with DATpacker). after the CAM, the only thing I put in the same sub-folder was the NAM-april2008, a bunch of bridges and the SAMv3.

anyway, I procedeed in erasing the plugin (the 2 remaining file in the \app folder) and re-installing it, but now it doesn't work anymore!! the files are still in their place, but while I'm playing, no trace of the plugin...
where am I wrong? I'd try a little bit experimenting (try the plugin without CAM, or on another region) but I'm in a short of time in this period, I'll be very glad if someone could help me using only this poor description...ance

I believe the Tracker problem is due to one of simGoobers files not the C.A.M. as i first suspected. Will let you know more when i have found the problem file(s).

Sorry for the delay I haven't had much chance to investigate the problem due to work and family commitments and with nearly 2gigs of plugins it has been a slow monotonous process.

thank you very much!! I've not played my region too, since I posted this issue. I'm surfin the web with another PC, so the only chance to find which of simgoober's lot is the "suspect" is to look at my D/L history. (19 pages!!)

for sure I installed the new SG water lots, farms, industrials, Hi-rise offices and hotels repacked along with the CAM, but the tracker was working until I started a new region. mmmm..

it must be something I D/Led around 20th of april...
here they are:
SG bbsc news studio
SG cattle farm
and then a couple of those big industrial models and lot from SG needed in the "CAM industrial BSC" from BarbyW -like the fukitol herbal company, but I cannot remember exactly which one because the link was to simtropolis and, alas, noD/L history there. I remember they were from SG 'coz at first I didn't D/Led them, thinking "if it's from SG, then I got them", until the brown boxes appeared...

Hmm, strange, I have most of SG's stuff, the CAM and the tracker.  And everything works OK.

the BSC regional tracking Mod seems to work correctly as long as I don't put the SG hotels1 (both models and lots packs) in the plugin folder.

I've just read the comments at the D/L page and someone else had noticed the conflict previously. one said that after removing the reward hotel, -Ritz Carlton-, the conflict was solved, but I don't know if it's true nor how to do that.
hope I don't have to remove the hotels, they're really wonderful.....

I Can confirm that it is the SG Hotels1.DAT (both models and lots packs) that cause the conflict.

I have done some testing on this and for some reason it is the Ritz Carlton lot that is causing the problem. I have removed this from the dat and updated the file on the LEX. I will get Daeley to look at the Ritz Carlton lot to see if he can see where the conflict lies but until then that lot will be unavailable.

It was easier to solve than I had thought so I have uploaded a revised version of the Ritz Carlton that does not conflict. I have done it as a separate upload as I had already removed it from the updated Hotels1 lots file. I have tested it and it no longer conflicts.
