You will have to change the occupant groups for that. I think the easiest way to do that is using LEProp. Click on the blue button on the lower right (the one with the ruler and the triangle), this will bring up a dialogue where you can edit the occupant groups.

Andreas,
I tried this some time ago with files I wanted to move from the Landmarks menu to the harbour menu: some harbourlots by Somy and others. They just disappeared! I didn't find them anywhere.
Is there something more I should do except choosing which menu I want the lot to appear? Should I work with the advanced options? They look scary....

Andreas

The advanced options are the only way to fix things that might have gone wrong with simply selecting an entry from the drop-down list. Usually, LEProp will try to assign the properties that are tied to what you select (i. e., if you select "School", it will automatically add properties for "strikable" etc.). Open your "broken" lots in the advanced view and check out which occupant groups are listed on the right side. The only thing that should be listed here is "Building: Water Transit". If there are other occupant groups, highlight them and click on the arrow that points to the left, so they get removed.

hi franku,
ive been doing a lot of what youre doing too. ive moved all of my LM menu ships/harbours to the water transit menu, although i used the reader as its what i learned on.

if you want to try the reader (backup your file first, just in case!), you can open it, find the lot you want to move and select it. the click the 'fill the list' button. on the left there are some files listed, you want to choose the examplar file which contains the 'occupant group' file and then double click on occupant group. using this link:

http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2378.0

you can see what is defined in this file, such as building type and menu location. now for me, i usually just edit the menu hex # to the new menu location hex # i want and i remove all other numbers. now this has always worked for me (although im not sure if you should always remove the other numbers) and i think if its a reward file that it might be more difficult (i read this somewhere at 1 point but so far have never had to edit these locations) so when you are done editing the occupant group file, click the 2 apply buttons (after you do this, the name of the new menu location will now show in the exemplar file, so check it out to make sure its right) and if all is good, click the save button in the main toolbar.
thats all i do, remember to backup your file first though and let me know if it works out.

just on a side note, does anyone know why there are sometimes multiple hex numbers in an occupant group? such as civic building, LM ogle(what is a LM ogle??), etc. and is it ok to delete these extras?

edit: andreas posted as i was replying, im a slow typer.

Well, see my description above. "Landmark ogle" is the crowd of sims that appears if you place a landmark, "Strikable education" tells a school to go on strike when it's underfunded, "Taxi maker" lets taxis appear on the streets around the lot and stuff like this. Occupant groups are used to control a variety of things, that's why editing them is always a bit delicate. Some of them are essential for the functionality, others simply add some features that look nice.

RippleJet compiled a complete list of all occupant groups and posted it here: http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2378.0 The list also indicates which ones are responsible for the menu placement.

thanks andreas,
ive often wondered what the LM ogle was because it was on some ship lots i moved, i mustve missed it in the occupant list ripplejet made.  :)

FrankU

Andreas and jmdude1: thanks a lot. I will try your advice as soon as I have time to sit behind my computer at home. I'm in the office now.

But, I'm afraid this did not yet answer the original question by leno84rm.

Leno, do I understand you right when I presume that your question was:
"I made a Lot that appears in the park menu and I don't like it anymore. How can I get rid of it?"
The answer to this question is simple: in the Plugins-folder in My Documents/Simcity4 you will find all the plugins. The Lot you made is a new file in this folder. Just delete it and it is gone.

Edit:
Andreas, is there somewhere information about how to work with LEprop? I like the program quite well. It is also self-explanatory, but some things are still a riddle to me. Like the subject above. I followed the link to Ripplejet's list, but it still does not tell me wich occupant group I should assign.
And the Reader is still too much for me....

FrankU

Should I edit again, or is another post OK?

In the meantime I moved almost all my lots to the harbour menu. It works fine, although it took me all night...
Now I know how it works and it will not be too hard to eventually move every lot to the menu I desire. Thanks for that.
Another function of LEprop and Reader that I know of.
I am curious about all the other possibilities, but I expect to find out in the future...
Still not a boring minute with SC4!

This is Bunny. Copy and paste bunny into your signature and help him gain world domination.

Weel, I think it is better to start a new topic. I'm afraid in this way you don't get the attention your question could need.
A start of an answer: I'm not sure what you want.
Do you want some readymade new textures you can use? Then I advise you to download some texturefiles from the dependecies. There are very many, so you should just try and see what you like. Just install the files into your Plugins folder and open the LE.
Or do you want to make some new textures by yourself? This is of course possible, has been done some million times, but I can't tell you how.
