Glad the link helped. And good thing its not going to swiss bank accounts :) Great job on making the Oil town contrasting to Fursan also, a great varity you show us :)

nedalezz

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I was playing with the map config of the land, and I moved the squares...and when I loaded the game....all the cities were gonnnnnnee!!!!!! Please someone tell me I can recover them  :(

Yoman

If you go to My docs -> Simcity4 -> Regions -> [Your Region] -> see if a file with your city names is there if not I think its a loss :(

Jmouse

If all else fails, just return to your latest backup and rebuild from there.

Until next time...

These advices are good and I haven't nothing else to say at this moment, but even if you will lose your cities, don't worry - many of us have such situations from time to time
And even if you would have to rebuild everything, you can be sure Qumma will still be alive - your viewers will look at it and help you if you will need  :) And you will be able to make many things faster and better
But of course I hope everything will be OK

As I mentioned before, I managed, geniusly, to lose all my cities. Thankfully, looking on the brighter, they werent that big to begin with. I managed to put in some time today, and I've gotten Fursan back up to approximately 10,000 people. I dont know if it is as good as the old Fursan, probably not, but here is a few pics on my progress. The first two pics are aerial shots, while the last pic is the new QEC Administrative Building:

Yes, you are still at the beginning :)

It will be better - don't try to rebuild everything, only what you like. And think rather about new ideas, than about past
If I lose something, the next one is always better  :D

Edit: and don't hurry, you don't have a schedule with the deadline ;)

Schulmanator

You have great stuff. I found that when I lost stuff, it came back better each time. I am sure yours will as well.
See the all-new National Capital Region!:http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=15118.0

Jmouse

I agree completely with Ennedi and Schulmanator. Whether I destroyed a region on purpose or lost it unintentionally, the next one was always better because all my past mistakes were still engraved on my brain! ???
Besides, if your regulars didn't like your work, they wouldn't be hanging out here, so it looks like you'll have plenty of support and encouragement during the rebuilding process.
The new Fursan still has that misty, sunbaked look common to equatorial Africa, and the Administrative Building is very attractive. The upkeep costs on that lush green lawn must be pretty steep in such an arid environment, though! ;)

Until next time...

That's looking very great! Wonderful pictures of that town!

Looking good. When you use the Lens Flare effect on the water your pictures are made much more realistic. However, your use of it on land based pictures is extremely unrealistic. I would suggest using a lighting effect as a substitute.

Yoman

Indeed, Ennedi is correct, it will be better because you have the experiance of building the last one to help you. If real world cities could be rebuilt incorperating the lessons of the first one they'd all be better too :) I eagerly await more updates.

thundercrack83

Well, I'm sorry to hear you had some problems, but the new Fursan looks fantastic, too! Like everyone said, now you have a chance to go back and change the things you didn't like! Can't wait to see more!

nedalezz

Thanks for the amazing support, all of you! Really, I cant state enough how much I appreciate it.

I loved the old Fursan, but the new one is kind of growing on me, as well. I like my new QEC Administrative Building alot more, and I also used a new school. I did use the old BAT for the Qumma National Bank, though, as I liked the way it looked.

Fursan now is more drawn out along the coast, instead of developing inland. I havent started on any of the refineries or Khaymeh yet, but I will soon.

I do plan on rebuilding Qala'at Turbia and the Fursan Oil Port again, although the latter will be larger than the old one.

Stay tuned, and again, thanks for all the support!

Pat

nedalezz WoW new fursan is alot better imho and great job on it.... Sorry that you did loose old Fursan but remember beauty from the ashes....

Hi Nedalezz,

I've not dropped by for a while and am sorry to hear you lost the city.  But as everyone else has said, you can keep the best bits and improve those bits you wanted to.  The new Fursan is looking good and I'm sure it will continue to grow very nicely.

Qumma is pretty unique here I think, so keep going with your own style.

nedalezz

Hey everyone, thanks for the amazing support! Its great to know the MD has such a great core of readers!

Im sorry about the lack of updates, Im actually on a business trip. I am attending the Canton Trade Fair in Guangzhou, China, and I will be pretty occupied from now till the end of the month.

That being said, I do plan on a few updates, with the next one being about the new Khaymeh and Khaymeh Oil Refinery. Thank you again.

Jmouse

Have a safe, pleasant and productive trip. We'll leave the light on for you! :)

Until next time...
Joan
