I have Trolca's Rush Hour Train Set.  He never included a readme.  How exactly does this work, becuase I all I get are engines and no other trains.  Can you use all the trains in the set or do you have to use just one?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have never used trolca's trains so I can't be 100% sure about this. I use SMP's bus and train mod, highly recommended..they look excellent! Wich set did you use exactly (please add an url next time)

But in general you can only have one set of trains installed to change the default maxis passenger train. You will probably have to add 2 files to your plugins folder, one file for the carriages, and one for the train itself.

Well, you CAN have multiple replace the default trains, it just makes really idiosyncratic trains--picture a steam locomotive pulling an electric high speed rail car with a regional runner set on the end >>

You can only have one train of each type in the game (passenger, freighter, steam [I'm not sure if anyone has made any mods to this]). You need one file for the engine and one for the carriage. For example ICE-engine.dat and ICE-carriage.dat (which are my own file names!) in the plugin folder gives me the German ICE3 trains.

I believe you can only have an engine file for the freighter trains though. Also remember that all files starting with a letter higher than the file you intended to load, will override (because of the loading sequence).

I know this is an old thread but I have just spent hours reading trolcas train mod help thread at ST and can probably help others who may have looked at this thread.
Only one passenger train should be used at a time.
For freight you can use as many files as you want but only one 'original' file whether it is cab or box as this replaces the maxis ones. My trains have many other engines, cabs, covered hoppers etc but you need to ensure there are no conflicts by looking at the end of the file names. If more than two or more have the same number on the end then one will cancel out the other. Example from Trolca - RHFreightEngineRed_10AA5500 and FETrolca_10AA5500 have the same number so only one should be used. He also dropped trailing zeros occasionally so 10AA55 is the same as 10AA5500.
This is only for Trolca's train mods. I don't use any others but assume it works the same way. Hope this helps someone as it took hours of reading on my part to get this mod installed correctly. Now I get wonderful long freight trains with many different cars on the back of the engines.
