I am trying to create a animated visual "effect" for a waterfall.
I am not sure how to do it. I know jeronij created 1 or 2 waterfall effects but I found them to be too long (or large) for what I want. Is there a way to change his existing ones
I believe these are the two effects:

If I guessed right and these are the effects he used to create his waterfall(s), Is there a way to manipulate the size (especially the lenght) of them?
If not, then how would I go about making my own "effect".
Perhaps there is a way to get the "particle systems" option to work in the game?
I'm not sure &Thk/(
Thanks all..

Looking from that screenshot of the reader. I'm gonna have to say it look's like he just used the some effects from the game's effects, and made a exemplar for them. There's no way for you to change antyhing in regards to the effect, unless you can write a whole new effect in hex code and its not easy to do, even I have problems writing new effects and I'm probably the only person who has spent like 3 years messing around with that effect's directory.

I don't think anyone else has ever made any custom effects or changes to them except for me, all the other mods I've seen that include a effects.dir file are my work, just copied and used without giving credit to me or saying what mod of mine they based it off of, which is why some people have issues with some of my mods that have a effects.dir file. Some effects have to be changed in the main game file while others can be made seperate in their own file.

gizmo28: Hello. Thanks for the info. I have used some of your effects in my game. And I thank you for your hard work. They have made my game more enjoyable for sure
This is the in game effect from my last pic(s). Are you saying there is no way I could modify this effect to "spray" mist alot less than waht it does? Just curious.
I know there are several effects (a few smoke effects for example), but this one would be perfect if it was a much smaller effect for what I need.
Thanks

That effect was written as a flowable stream for the game, the tool was never finished and EA/Maxis left remnants of it in the game, I'm going to guess it was never never finished as you couldn't really control the flow. Thats actually not mist, but is supposed to be a flowing stream if the stream teraforming tool worked properly, the tool was supposed to gouge a valley and the effect was supposed to flow in it. You could try raising the terrain around the base to make a crater like wall to contain the effect from spreading out like that.

I've taken a different approach in "building" a waterfall out of a bunch of game "fountain" effects LOTted together.

There's a bunch of other variations that show up in my MD.  They're not perfect, but they suit me for what I want to do with them.

n.b.:  Gizmo- Great to see your nic here!  I agree, there's way too many folks who have ripped your work off by failing to give credit where credit is due.  Thanks for everything you've contributed to SC4. -DE
