Monkey Island Sequel: Baywatch Nights

At Chimpania Beach, highly trained and highly toned lifeguards protect the many happy beachgoers who flock to the resort town on the southern end of Monkey Bay. These nubile young professionals can provide CPR, run in slow motion along the beach, or even provide melodrama. That's multi-talented!

Baywatch is located right off of the Monkey Island Expressway, Exit 1, in Chimpania. Monkey Bay is a safer and better place thanks to these monkeys!

At Baywatch Headquarters, lead lifeguard Bob Boon is sending three personal watercraft out into the bay to patrol for sharks, look for swimmers in danger, and to look cool. Let's pause for a moment to enjoy a musical montage of then cutting through waves and jetting across the water... ... ... ahhh, now wasn't that cool?

And now, to Baywatch Nights!

The action on the beach is HOT
But the action off the beach is HOTTER
!!

The show's regulars finally get the guest star out of the Hard Rock Café. Monk L. Hastlehopf staggered out to the parking lot and created a melodramatic scene. All passers by stopped and stared, wide eyed. Of course, the camera gradually zooms in on him as he continues his performance.

As several Baywatch Babes hold him up, he makes his way to the mystery van. I mean, the Baywatchmobile. In the background, a violin-sounding synthesizer chord has been playing, cueing you to feel sad.

But, that's a downer. Let's cut to something cooler!

Slow motion music montage... running across the beach. Ahhhhh, that's better!

Now, down to South Beach, where there's trouble! Apparently South Beach Diet followers were protesting at a "Say Yes to Carbs" concert down at the Jane Gooddall Pavilion when trouble broke out!

As pro-Carb partiers listed to songs such as "French Fry Paradise" and "Sugar Sugar" by groups such as Refined Wheat Products and The Pasta Boys, sign waving protesters swam up to the boardwalk and crashed the party. An astute concertgoer whipped out his cell phone and, after making several videos for YouTube, called Baywatch for assistance. Several perky team members swung into action! Off the go, running in slow motion to the watercraft. As the heart-pounding action unfolds, thumping drumbeats pulsate through the synthesizer and guitar riff. This could be trouble – right here in River Ci... I mean Monkey Island!

Upon arrival, every stopped to watch the lithe bodies running in slow motion up to the scene. Team Leader Koko had a suggestion which diffused the situation. After a dramatic pause (which also allowed the camera to zoom in on his attempt of a serious expression) he suggested that the angry partiers and protesters relax next door at the amusement park and then they would feel happier.

Yes! A simple solution which magically makes the problems go away! Another brilliant success for Baywatch! The camera zooms out as the mob heads over to the roller coaster. Then it zooms back in on Koko, who has a smug look on his face and sorta nods slowly. Yeah, he knows he's cool.

Now, for a commercial break.

And, now back to the show.

As the happy pro and anti carbohydrates teams ride the roller coaster with glee, all seems well on the beach.... But is it?

Of course not! We need more melodrama! So, let's bring it on!

A panicked report about a drowning sends the team out again. But, Monkella has a suspicion that something isn't right. Are they falling into a trap?

She was right, of course! It's a fake drowning – meant to lure them away from the REAL crime...

A daring heist at the jewelry show at Primate Plaza!

Can they be stopped?

The Baywatch team is preoccupied on a decoy call. Are the Crown Jewels safe?

We'll see....

... NEXT TIME!

Another wonderful update of the beach! Fantastic work, Schulmanator! Looking forward to more...

Pat Riot

haha! another great fantastic update. names are the best "koko" "monkella"

capo

Wow what a great story (as usual) but this time I would also like to compliment you on the choice of pictures and lots! That concert is just insane! And I feel everybody has the right to go pro-carb if they want to, come to think of it..where can I order 'the pasta boys' their latest cd?

I think there should be rollercoasters everywhere in RL, as soon as people are having an argument, put them in a rollercoaster and all the troubles are gone. Imagine the money you could save with decreasing police fundage!

Again you created an update of an outstanding quality! I should video myself when reading your next update and upload it on youtube, kind of like the 2girls1 cup video...but then in a more classy way. All you would see is me laughing and scrolling I think, I doubt it would be entertaining.

The commercial break is genius...and effective. I'm going to go out shopping now, gotta get me some lucky monkey bandages!!

Which is better -- the story or the pictures? The pictures or the story? Impossible to choose! :D
You've done a beautiful job of creating a resort atmosphere on South Beach which is a perfect setting for Baywatch.
That zoom-out shot right before the commercial is brilliant, and Primate Plaza is awesome.

Until next time...
Joan

suplado!

Pat Riot   That sounds like a sure best seller in Monkey island!

bat   Thanks! Always glad to have you fly by Monkey island!

Pat Riot   Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the sequel.

capo   LOL! I have to wonder if the roller coaster could be an effective mediation strategy! Let's hope the pro and anti carb groups will be able to live in harmony. As for the latest CD – try Monkey Island's answer to YouTibe... OohOohTube!

Jmouse      Thanks! I am blushing. Curious George is very happy with your comment. He was last seen dancing off with the yellow hat on, singing "Joan is awesome... Joan is awesome!"

suplado!      Thanks! The beaches here are not as hot as the desert in Jargeah though!

dragonshardz      Thanks! It is Scooby Doo plotline on a beach with babes, just like the original!

Pat      lol! We'll see how those jewels are next time!

Strechnitz      Hmmm, if you are certain Stropon is not behind the heist, perhaps it was... Liaane? Feery's been keeping a low profile as of late. Perhaps he is money laundering?

paroch   Welcome! Glad to see you here. I am pleased that you enjoyed your visit. Feel free to swing by anytime. The bananas are always ripe and the termite mounds are always full of plump juicy termites!

A daring heist at the jewelry show at Primate Plaza!

Can they be stopped?

The Baywatch team is preoccupied on a decoy call. Are the Crown Jewels safe?

And now, to the exciting conclusion!

Meanwhile, at Primate Plaza, a special jewelry exhibition has just opened. Fabulous jewels from around the primate world are on display to dazzle the gawking monkeys. There's the Howler Emerald, the Garnet Gibbon, the Ruby of the Banana Republic. The centerpiece is of course the 65,865 carat yellow diamond, the Royal Banana of George. It is the collateral for Monkey Island bonds. It seemed to be risky to put it on display. But, the security team of brother Lemon Utan and Orange Utan seemed to have everything under control.

But, they did not account for an infiltrating double agent from Cro Magnonia. The Cro Magnons have a score to settle with Monkey Island after a skirmish over the nearby island of Neandertal. The Cro Magnons have the perfect plan for revenge- steal the giant diamond, cut to look like a big yellow hat, and bankrupt the monkeys.

The first step, divert security away from the exhibition. With Baywatch occupied, the Chimpania police force stood no chance.

From their hotel room overlooking Primate Plaza, the nefarious criminals watched Baywatch take the bait. Time to swing into action!

The strike force assembled right in front of the doors. They looked innocent enough. No one noticed that they had... sticky fingers!

Nearby, the Baywatch team finished their "rescue" and contemplated their next move. Then, they did it: a slow motion run across the beach with a heavy synthesizer and guitar sound filling the air. Too cool.

Just on the other side of the road, the Royal Banana was in great peril. As the crew slid into the Hard Rock Café to unwind and savor the admiring stares of the public, Bob Boon said "Hmmm, something is wrong... my Spidey Sense is tingling." Monkella noted he was in the wrong series. He responded "Oops – but you know what I mean. Something is wrong. I wish I could put my monkey paw on it.... But, something is wrong." He looked out the window, across the street...

IT'S GO TIME!

Baywatch swings into action! Cue the haunting electric guitar riff... now, running across the street in slow motion...

Paws and tails are flailing wildly! Monkey screams pierce the still air. It is definitely GO TIME!

The Monkeystone Kops arrived and sealed off the plaza behind the building. There would be no escape for the Cro Magnons.

A 90 second montage of pulsing music and slow motion staged, over-the-top pseudo martial arts campy fighting wraps up with the arrest of the Cro Magnons. Baywatch has again saved the day!

The episode closes with a fab concert! The whole cast of Baywatch heads out for slow motion freeze-frame disco music. Featured performer: BANANARAMA!

ha! the incredibly lame but funny "wrong show" joke. Nice update! I Knew it was going to be good around the "Sticky Fingers" part.
