I know one of the goals of the Shosaloza project was integration of city onto terrain, keeping the terrain as natural as possible. For the "Rayden's Shosaloza" project, looking natural is kind of an understatement... a slap in the face! It seems as though you are playing SimCity 5. How did you get the advance copy?

This looks very natural, and with 200k now, mission accomplished!

But..... If I know Rayden/Silvio, this project has lots of steam left in it, and won't be completed anytime soon. It must feel great at the "end" of a great project like this (and Little Italy, Andorra - although they are not necessarily "done" per se) as it must feel like you have completed a work of art rather than a city in SC4. At least that's how I interpret it.

Anyways, always glad to see this MD shine brightly!

Ah great stuff Silvio!

I noticed that a lot of lots do not have the nightlighting! Did you get everything needed for that from the Maxis website?
It's either that or you have a serious powerfailure without the power zots showing LOL.

I did enjoy the last update.  I really like the shape of the city in the valley.  Very conforming, if that's a good description.  Great work.
Call me Robin, please.

thundercrack83

Another great update! I love the last picture, what you called art, but I would say that all you work is art! Also, I don't know about anyone else, but I would be very happy if you did a mosaic tutorial! Keep up the good work!

Darmok

Hola Silvio,
superb work in those last updates amigo, really liked the pics with the BigDig pieces, and as usual your mosaics are top notch!
I really like how you nestled your towns in between those mountains, really good work my friend!
Can't wait for more...

Now if I only could find a way to email you some snow banks from my driveway!....

Take care

C'mon, Silvio...that wasn't just ordinary...
It was extraordinary.

...woops, I was in such "shock and awe" I hit "Save" instead of "Preview"...

That valley mosaic is once again among your finest.  The problem is that they're all your finest.  How you continue to top yourself, I don't know.

Oh, btw, our friend Jestarr left us snow-lovers a little gift [linkie] over at 3RR.

Shosaloza- the MD is an ever more stunning place.  Far from "mission accomplished," I think you've only just started to show us what you can do here.

Man, that last mosaic is a beauty.
That is one excellent job of building in the valley in a way that looks very natural and realistic.

You do a fabulous job of creating your screenshots too!

See why I said you were a legend?  This city is fantastic!  I'm very impressed and will definitely be back
If girls quoted Winston Churchill and Aristotle in their AIM profiles instead of "Rent," we'd all be so much more erudite. That means "knowledgeable," but you didn't know that because girls quote "Rent" in their AIM profiles.

Now that you mentioned, I think there is a problem, maybe a conflict with any other plugin. I've reinstalled the game, got every update there is (SKU1, Bat, Bat Update, LE, bldgprop_vol1 and 2), and it's still the same. Any clues what can it be?

Just for testing, can anyone mention a custom lot (recent one with good nightlighting) so, I can see if it works or not. What I have noticed is that some of the older lots, those they have night lights  &Thk/(

sc4portugal

Do you have the update to download from maxis? i think that would make lights or mabye a missing dependency...
lol (sorry i can't think of anythig else lol)

Well, I suspected for quite a while I had something wrong with my game. I used to see some nightshots from others MDiers and use to wish mine could be as good as them. I only tought that could be some software/hardware modifications/settings, different from mines, so, I never gave them too much attention, until Nik-Nik pointed that out. Since yesterday, I've uninstalled the game 3 times, went several times to the Ea site to download the updates, Bat, LE, bldgprops, etc. Nothing worked. During the night, I managed to get a pirate copy from the net, installed and it worked. So, during the afternoon, I went to the shop and bought I new copy of Simcity 4 Deluxe Edition. Now I have, the full collection of Simcities. From the Classic to the SC4 Deluxe (including SC4 Original, SC4 Rush Hour and now, SC4 Deluxe). But now, you might be wondering, what was wrong. The only good explanation I came up with is, when SC4 come out early 2003, I wanted badly to have the game immediately, so, instead of waiting until it arrived in Portugal, which happen 3 months later, I ordered mine from the UK. Later in 2004, the expansion Rush Hour came out in Portugal, so, I bought here. Looks like both versions are not fully compatible. I found that during the upgrades. If I upgrade the SC4 Original, it used the European upgrade, SKU2... if I'm not mistaken, and my version of the Rush Hour, uses the other upgrade, SKU1... Either way, I always had some error reports during upgrades, like, "old file was not found, but one with the same name. No upgrade was made, as the content of that file was different from the old one". Like that, the upgrade was compromised. With the new Deluxe, I ran the European upgrade, it went cleaned, then ran the Bat installer, the BAt update and the LE installer, copied the backup folders Regions, albuns and Plugins, and voilá, night lights on all its explendor...

Nik-Nik, you're my heroe ()flower()

Hey John, I'm so happy to see you here again. Thanks for you kind words. They mean a lot to me, as they come from who I consider one of my mentors ;)
About the snow banks, keep them there, as I might plan to see them "in loco" one of these days (next winter). Greetings from the sunny Algarve to everyone at home.

Hey, welcome too, nice to see you here. Thanks for dropping by and leave such nice comment. The rock mod I'm using is the one from the Terrain Mod Italia by Cycledogg that can be found at Peg's site, which by the way, is off line for unknown reason, at least to me ;)

That's all for now, see you guys later. Update follows just underneath this post...

Rayden

And now, without any further delay, here is the update, dedicated to Nik-Nik.

First a couple of images from quad B2...

Now the usual mosaic...

A couple more images from quads D1 and D2. If you don't know what is the quads or the Bs, look at my region grid picture in here.

Isn't night lights great or what? $%Grinno$% This is unreal, I was missing so much and never quite realized that  &ops But now it's ok and I'll be enjoying this game even more

I think that's all for now.

Cheers and goodnight

...oh, what's this switch over here in the corner- never tried that one before...

Are they on?  Did that do it?

? ? ?

Yeah, nightlights!  No more rolling up the streets at dark.  Rayden's Shosaloza is now 24/7!

...just wait, though, 'til jeroni sends you your first power bill, Silvio...

Great pics.  Much easier to see, too.
