SC4 Crashes

I's needs Helpses. With my CJ Baltimore, it was closed because of a problem. Whenever I ploped a road tile, or built anything, the game crashed instantly. I couldnt even have time to play it. Everglade was different. I willingly closed it, however, I opened it up a bit ago and it happened again!

Crashes whilst playing SC4 have always happened for me, usualy when opining Sim City, loading a city, or after saving a city. This has never realy been a problem. I dont know what is causing this. I have a few guesses though...
1) Computer Viris?
2)Computer Performance?
3)Faulty/"BAD" Plugins?
4)Scratched/Bad C.D.?

1) Im have absolutly no clue about this. I played Baltimore on my last computer(whichg has been reformated twice, once after my first CJ, "Tropicana", and again which ended my CJ, "Baltimore, Natural Growth".) The reformating was because of a virus, but my curent anti-virus software says there is'nt anythang.

2)This may be it. I no my computer is above the min. requierments "says the SC4 box" and it runs great. (aside from the crashes) and this is the ONLY game on my computer which this happens with.
I will try and get my computers specs up, I want to know if other people have lower-same-higher then me.

3)In my eys, this is most likely the reason. I have alot of plugins in my computer, and there pretty orginized. I have only about 10 "main folders" with plugins that pertain to each category in each one. (I do this so that if I have a problem with a plugin, I can easily find and delete it.) If anybody has had problems with these plugins, please let me know.

4)Im almost positive this is not it. This is because I have 2 C.D.'s that Ive used. I bought 2 because a few years ago I lost a copy so I bought a sacond one, then more recently I found the old one.


Please sombody help. I have a feeling that this will happen again. So Im searching for help before it does.

Hi Marsh, first of all it would be good to have an idea of your computer specs and operating system. SC4 was never meant for running on current PC's but in a lot of cases there are fixes. I'm certainly no expert on these things (not even close) but I know that this info may certainly help a few of our tech-heads out there
