Question about constant fires and overcrowded hospitals

Hello,

There are a couple of things that bug me about the game and I was hoping maybe someone can help me.

1) I seem to get fires every 2 minutes and it's getting really annoying! Sometimes it even happens when I'm just about to plant something or zone an area or demolish something and I end up clicking the wrong place because I have the alerts thing on and it takes me straight to where the fire is. I know I can turn the notification off, but is there a mod that just stops fires from happening so often?

2) My hospitals get overcrowded in an area and the funding for that particular hospital is maxed out, so I build another hospital somewhere else, but it seems like the people then don't try to go to the new hospital because they keep picketing at the full one and I never get rid of the red news message saying that I need to do something about it....even though the new hospital I've just built has plenty of space! Am I doing something wrong here or what should I do? Am I supposed to build a new hospital right next door to the full one?

Thanks :)

xxdita

For fires, just make sure you provide adequate fire stations around town, and that they're fully funded.

Hospitals are a little different. You need to make sure that the radius for the new one overlaps the most highly populated portion of the old hospital's radius. If that doesn't work, you could decrease the radius serving the first hospital, or demolish it and rebuild. If you're running into capacity issues a lot, you may want to check the LEX for larger hospitals.

OK, great thanks! I'll have a look at my fire stations and check LEX for bigger hospitals. I remember downloading a hospital pack a while ago, but they needed zero funding and it seemed like cheating! I'll have another search and see if there are newer ones that need realistic funding.
