A road geek update, i have made a map whit the number(s) of lanes of the main road network of New Holland. After the complementation of the 30 Bottlenecks program the traffic jams are reduced enormous. The same in the real Netherlands, this month reports ANWB that the congestion level in April decreased by 30%, compared to April 2011. I think that we next year see the same results. I am convinced that the opening of additional lanes is the reason for the lesser traffic jams.

Klik, or look at the link for a bigger overvieuw: http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/2520/aantalrijstrokenmaart20.jpg

On a few places in the region are there some traffic jams. The biggest congestion is on the A12 between Boxtel and Ressen. The motorway goes at Boxtel from 5 lanes to 3 lanes. This bottleneck will be fixed whit on some places 1 new lane and were there is space enough will be added 2 lanes.

Next update we look at the last section of the N198  ;)

Wow! :shocked2: That's a huge amount, indeed!

Every update, we can see a lot of work, you did over the region! And then developing the fully-built-up area - just like get a job in real governmental transport institution  ;D
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

N198 the last part
The last part of the N198 is open for traffic, now is the whole new route completed.

The end of the N198 at the intersection whit the A1 motorway.

And a other road that is connected whit the N198, at the roundabout at picture 4.

Overview of the farmland of Vlissingen.

Widening N268 and upgrade interchange whit the A12 at Boxtel
The A12 will be widened at this moment tot 2x4 and at some places to 2x5. The interchange whit the N268 will be also upgraded. The N268 have at a small parts 2x1 lane, in this update you see that this part also is upgraded to 2x2 lanes. We start the update at the widening part of the N268 at Boxtel.

Also this underlaying road is upgraded to 2x2 lanes. After the complementation of the widening of the A4 there are a lot of offices build at Boxtel. Witch have created a lot of traffic.

The interchange whit the A12, looks like a kind of cloverleaf. Some traffic light crossings are removed.

This part of the A12 gets a extra lane, 2x5 lanes.

Back to the A12 at Boxtels office park. There is a new viaduct build for the slower traffic, thats not longer can take the N268 because that road have now a motorway status.

Back to the N268 intersection whit the office park.

The eye catchers towers and the A4 motorway.

That was it for this update, comments are always welcome!

I agree with Flatron. And I must say that the Dutch seem to be very good at regional and transit planning. Just take a look at The Netherlands in Google Earth. Everything looks so tidy and well organised.  ()stsfd()

Interesting update again. I wonder why you chose the divided one lane setup for N267?

This 2x1 setup is combined whit turbo-roundabouts whit 2-lanes. This is very common as access to large residential areas in The Netherlands. Here some pictures of the N267.

A12 widening to 2x5 lanes
The widening of the A12 is completed. The most work at this project was on the bridges at the inland shipping channel. We start this update at the begin of the A12, at the interchange whit the A4 and the A10. This interchanges is rebuild recently. After the complementation are the traffic jams at the junction reduced whit 92%.

The intersection whit the N268, we have see this one at the last update.

Before the widening where here 2x3 lanes for trough traffic.

Before: http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/5901/52999602.jpg

Before: http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/2620/81657712.jpg

The 2x5 lanes split up in a parallel structure. To prepare the traffic for the junction whit the A28 and a new intersection.

The most expensive part of the project, the bridges at the inland shipping channel. Before the widening had the bridges only 6 lanes. And no noise barriers.

The new intersection. This new connection must relief the junction whit the A28.

The junction whit the A28. Here stops the widening.

The new residential area, next to the A12 and the new intersection.

The begin of the N267, the 2x1 lane road.

That's it for this update comments are always welcome!

Time for a update, this week a rebuild intersection at the A7 is reopened for traffic. The intersection (De Dieze North) have now a connection whit the bypass road of Delfland. There is also a new office and shopping complex built next to the intersection. We start this update whit a picture of the before situation.

The shopping complex in this image will be demolished, because this on is replaced by the new shopping center along the intersection.

The A7, in the direction of the new intersection.

And the other side, no mo-defecations on this part of the intersection.

The intersection, whit a new roundabout. There is enough room for a bigger roundabout whit 2 lanes, when its needed.

The new road connects the bypass road of Delfland whit the intersection.

A large part of the ground has not yet been sold. In the real Netherlands see we this now also a lot. At all the new business area's there are so many empty plots.

Today is the new HSR station Gestel opened. This new station will be the end station of most HSR trains during the work around widening of the A10 and the widening of the rail tracks along the A10 at Tilburg. There is to less space for all the trains to stop at Tilburg Central during the construction works. Tilburg Central is a big hub for the country, the idea is that this hub function will be take over by Gestel Central during the construction works.

Tilburg get also a new terminal for the HSR. When this new terminal opens will be also the last part of the HSR link to Germany build. A big part of the new link is build before, and in use now. One a small part of the link near Tilburg must ride the HSR trains on the regular tracks, whits cost more time for the travelers. In the next years will this problem solve.

The new station give Gestel a new look. Also connect the new station the office park and the city with a new bridge that was built over the railways. The bus station is moved to the side of the office park and there are a lot of parking places build (for park and ride). The ground will not sold at this time, there are no developers that want invests in more office space. In the original plan we wane build a parking garage under the station and under new office buildings. There is only one new office build construct at this time, the tower next to the station. The municipality of Gestel has purchased many space at this tower.

Today we take a look at a new bridge for the new HSR line from Tilburg to Germany. This part of the project is finished but not in full use. The section at Tilburg be under construction at this moment, so there is no full HSR line to Germany.

We start at the end of the current HSR section at Tilburg.

The viaduct over the rails lines is for the ring road Tilburg N14.

The new bridge. The first bridge can you see at the back build in the 70's, the section bridge is build in the late 90's.

The viaduct over the A4.
