The SC4 Devotion Forums are no longer active, but remain online in an archived, read-only "museum" state.  It is not possible for regular members to post or use the private messaging system, and no technical support will be provided for any issues pertaining to the forums in their current state.  Attachments (those that still work) are accessible without login.

The LEX has been replaced with SC4Evermore (SC4E), and SC4E maintains an active Discord server.  For traditional forums, we recommend Simtropolis.

Hello, first of all - welcome to SC4devotion!

Basically you just need to copy them into the SC4 Plugins folder. This folder is located in "My Documents\<name>\SImCity4\Plugins". However since you surely will collect tons of additional stuff over the time, it's a good idea to keep your Plugins folder organized. This helps to find specific plugin later on in case you want to uninstall or update a plugin. So basically you should kee a folder structure that comforts your needs. There are several ways to do so - by creator, by type of plugin (traffic, commercial, parks,...) and so on.

THere are also some tools available that will help you keep track of your plugins, like the SC4 tools - just search for SC4 tools here or over at simtropolis.
Additionally, as your plugin folder increases in size, you might want to consider Wouanagain's DatPacker (available here at the LEX) which will increase game speed at large plugin folder sizes.

Last but not least there's the Cleanitol (also available at the LEX) that will help you locate files that need to be removed when installing certain plugins.

If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission.
