I am using the BSC blocker to control city growth.  I am using The Reader to make certain buildings grow.  The following pictures explain my problem.

My plugin folder contains the 2x3 forge, its nessesary files, and the I-d1 blocker file.  I changed the 4x2 maxis and 2x2 maxis to stage 1.  The 4x2 grows no problem.  The 2x2 needs help as seen in the picture.  It can not start its own zone (the 4x2 can).  The second picture shows the forge removed and a second 2x2 that can now grow because its zone is devloped.  The blank 2x2 will not grow.  If I dezone and rezone it will.

What is going on here?  Thanks in advance, this plugin is great so far, and if I can get passed this hurdle it will make it awesome.

Well those tanks are -mech or -out buildings which can't grow more of themselves off (they only grow next to the main building except in rare cases).

Ok.  How do I go about changing that?

Looking at the XTool screen grab below.

Note on the left a yellow box. There are three industrial catagories. Dirty, Manufacturing, and High Tech. Each of these have three sub-catagories. Anchor, Mechanical, and Out buildings.

An anchor building needs road access to grow. Will not grow without a road/street. The forge in your picture is an anchor building. An anchor building does not have to be large - Farleys Foundry is a 1X1 anchor building.

A Mechanical building will grow and attach itself to an anchor building much like a field does to a farm. It can also grow on its own but like an anchor building has to touch a street or roadway to do so.

An out building will attach itself to an anchor or mechanical building. It will never grow on its own. It can/will touch a street but that is coincidental.

Look at the red box. There are two occupant groups associated. Industrial - building. The second - mechanical - is the important one.

The best way to make it into an anchor building is with the XTool. But that's a whole different discussion. The best thing for you to do is to download the XTool http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2260 and the XML file http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2265.

Don't forget to read the manual.

Thanks for the info.  Someone told me to change the occupant group, and when I tried that I found that the Blocker has nothing to do with this.  At least now I know what to aim for.

Sorry for blaming the Blocker.  It has allowed me much greater city detail, and this Industrial sub-sub-category would have never been made aware to me if not for the blocker.  Thanks again.
