Hello,
I just built my new dream system and have all drivers etc updated. Aside from a strange graphical glitch in region view (Win 7 Pro 64 issue?) where it looks like I have coastline where I have altered the terrain even though I haven't added water, everything seems to be going smoothly. I'm in the process of downloading and installing all of the great content from here I can't seem to play the game without anymore and all the lots, textures, etc. are going smoothly except for one prop! My brand new totally updated version of Norton Antivirus sees "BSCBATPropsMatt325_Vol02" as a major threat!?!?!?!? Anyone else having this issue? I love this persons content and it's picking it up off of this file I was trying to DL as a dependancy. Has anybody else had this problem? Is the file safe? How do I work around this if it is safe? I sure hope it is safe because I have quite a bit of his content and without this file I get the brown boxes! Grrr Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Pavilion123 and welcome.

Your anti-virus is likely reacting to the fact that it is in an . exe. (I use Symantec on my home PC). Just to be safe, here at work on a heavily locked down corporate grade system I have downloaded and installed the file, scanned it, and it returns no alerts....

Thank You mattb325 for the speedy response!!! And just would like to say I'm a huge fan of your work!!! You have an amazing talent along with quite a few others I have seen on this site!!! I really like your buildings and the overall feel your work brings to the game!
Do you mind me asking how do I handle Norton treating the file this way? I mean is there a way or work around to make it bypass the anti virus program? At first I figured it must be a glitch so I have tried to repeatedly to load the file thinking it would accept it but no luck!  /wrrd%&! Your artwork is as important for me to this game just as NAM and Barby and Simgoober etc etc. I know this is the wrong place to also ask another question forgive my break in protocol or etiquette. But is there a Tree Mod and Water Mod you recommend to go with your work?

Thank you so much for the HELP!!!!!!

Thanks, Pavilion123.

Re: how to circumvent the Norton/Symantec anti-virus, I am not sure as I have never had it block anything from the BSC site. I could only assume to try and download to another PC and then copy across(?) Someone else may have a better solution.

Re: water/tree mods - I use cycledogs missouri breaks mod and tend to hand plant trees. I chop and change water mods depending on my mood, so Pegs stuff is always pretty good as are those mega packs from Simtropolis.....

Well Thank you for your time and your help on this matter. I appreciate your taking the time to assist! Now back to downloading all of the wonderful work I can get my hands on! The ironic thing is I find myself downloading more content for this game than I actually seem to play!!! LOL

Take Care

I'm using Norton Internet Security 2010 and frequently have problems with LEX content because it does not like certain versions of the ClickTeam Installer used to make the EXE files for the installation packages.  For me, I have to disable the SONAR Protection feature while I am installing LEX content.

Here's how to temporarily disable SONAR Protection:
1. Double-click on the Norton icon in your taskbar.
2. Click the Settings link in the Computer section.
3. Scroll down to find the SONAR Protection settings under the Real Time Protection settings.
4. On the SONAR Protection line, click the green dash to the right to switch off.
5. Click the Apply button at the bottom.
6. You will be asked how long you want to disable this feature for.  I usually select "Until system restart".  You can disable this permanently, but I wouldn't recommend this as SONAR is useful protection in other circumstances.

Another option is to completely disable Antivirus while you are installing content, as long as it is from a reputable source like the LEX.  You simply right-click on the Norton icon in your taskbar, then select Disable Antivirus Auto-Protect.  You will receive the same prompt about how long you want to disable for.  You definitely don't want to select Permanently here, as this would leave you with no protection.

I hope this helps!

Ah, the lovely Norton...  [I think Norton has lost the plot some 12-15 years ago - won't touch it anymore. On my new computer it was the first pre-installed app to go - for good.]
There you have to pay $$s for a programme which turns one into a dumb user [like Microsoft is treating its clients under Windows 7 in some instances.] If you're not downloading some really bad installers from crack sites you should be 100% protected by free virus checkers, like Avast...
