lol, yep, another problem...

I had to change my anti-virus software recently because my Norton subscription expired, so now I'm with CA. I've started downloading a few things, they're all coming up invalid and CA is giving me a message that my computer has blocked incoming malware. So I've decided to try downloading something I already have, and same thing, blocked incoming malware.

I'm almost certain CA is pulling some false positive bull, another reason why I should dump that piece of crap CA because I've had nothing but problems with it, but I'm just playing things safe and making sure that there really aren't any problems with your uploads?

The uploads on the LEX should all be fine .. Ive never had a problem with any of them, and I assume they are all thoroughly checked out before uploaded to avoid these problems.  Maybe the installer they use is triggering CA to think its a virus or something

I would contact CA about that issue. I'm sure they would not like to lose a paying customer.
They'll probably review the contents of (or a sample of) the LEX and declare it safe. The LEX I would trust nearly completely. There are too many checks to let crap like Malware through.

Might want to check the settings for your security program. Some programs when first installed automaticly put the setting to a high or parinoid setting til the user oks the site to be download from.  When the software when it comes across a download it does not reconize, speacially if comes from a third party site such as this one, it automaticly says it is a possible virus or malware or malicious program of some sort just to be on the safe side.

Most programs have ajustable settings depending on your personel useage about downloading unknown material, eg parental settings that block unknown files that do not  contain 18+ material but the program is unsure of the containt so it errors on the side of caution and flags the file and or stops or disrupts the download just to be on the safe side.  Most sercurity programs also contain manual override option when downloading from a certain site, where you can tell the program that certain sites are ok to download from either as a onetime thing or always ok to download from, check the manual for your security program to view such options, might just take a bit of time to go through what you consider ok to download from. If you have multi-user using the same computer you might want to check the user ability to change these things as most cases it can only be done by a user that has admin status.
