Beleive it or not, but i got another update, this time showing some nice coastline stuff.

An old bridge... though they could have just built on the damn rocks. ::)

This whole areas is called Nybergsund.

Here's also a small village,  Hatteli.
I literally used this whole day making this, lot and then take cyclepuppy's mini-street textures on seperate 1x1 lots, for so to assemble the road.... oh joy...
Anyway, a common sight among Norwegian countryroads. Bottleneck areas of the road, where it hasn't been upgraded to two lane nor wide enough to have stripes. no sidewalk either, that's what the road is for, mixed use.

Nybergsund Town.

it's main feature is a large greenhouse.

And here's an abandoned football field.

And Oster Øy (Oster Island, NO, it is not some rip-off off Osturland...)

It's main feature is Oster Øy Alée( The tree lined gravel lane) And the mansion Oster Øy Herskapet.

Incredible work, Glenni! Your coastlines look absolutely fantastic, and you should enter that bridge shot in the Photo Competition. I'd vote for it in a second! Great job, my friend! Keep it up!

Glenni

Hmm, nah, don't think so, it's got a few visual oddities.
if anything 'd try the little village in it.

rooker1

great pictures, your coastline look very nice and really like those small roads going to the houses.

Robin

Wow, Glenni, that's an awesome village you have there, it must have taken forever to assemble in the Lot Editor.
I must ask, though, in the 11th picture down, how did you get the dotted yellow line on the road? It's very cool-looking.

kimcar

NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

Glenni

Well. It's a road texture mod. First it was a mod Teirusu ( at ST) posted as a BETA in the ST forums. Though after the update site update from v4 to v5 it was gone, fortunately Swamper77 still had it. so he sent it to me. I have it loaded up on Filefront.com if anyone wants it.  Just send me a PM!

flame1396

Whered you ge tthat bridge? i ahvent seen it before.
The most astounding and unique aspect of the human race is our fervent application of our ingenuity to kill each other, thus completely defying the near-universally proven fact that the ultimate goal of a member of a species is to ensure the survival of the species.

Glenni

it's a standard bridge, but with street deck, found in NAM.

Eddie

You've taken realism to a whole other level, Glenni. It took you a day to LE that?  :o The effort was truly worth it.

Eddie: Yep, it did, i tried with several different looks to the village and road, but finnaly this was the best choice, it also took quite a while to assemble the road, with what seems to be hundred street textures from CP. ???
:-\
Anyway, i got some more of Nybergsund to show, there will also be pictures of another place named Fyksesund.

Mårstø Oil Reffenary.-

It was necesary with such a high bridge, so that ships could pass.

Another small town, Jersøy

The TSC Black Stern on a visit.

The wreck of a cargo ship which sunk in 1965.
They needed pilots to pass that narrow place earlier. Now it's mostly closed for ship traffic, mainly because of the bridge blocking the path, in 8/9/1965 the ruther for the ship malfunctioned, and it headed straight into the rocks. Thankfully the whole crew survived.

Fyksesund:

It's Basically connected to Nybergsund by a ferry.

The ferry port, not quite as big, as on the opposite side.

The Fyksesund side, Fyksesund is a small, but dense industrial and seaport town, they also got a ship constructing wharf.
FMV, Fyksesund Mekaniske Verft.

The ferry is planned to be taken out of service  by late 2009, Statens Vegvesen (The road authorities of Vandals Fjella)
Are planning to build a new suspension bridge.

In the 1900's to 1970's this town was overpopulated for it's size, even in smaller 4 family homes, to today's standard there would live over 40 people! In the 1960's 39000 people lived there, now just 20000.

The town is now rather poor, mostly populated by immigrants from Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East Asia, who can't afford to live in Lavanger or Vandals Fjella city areas because of the high property prices.

But, there have been some redevelopment projects that are quite successful.

The Seaports.

The industrial facilities...

A nearby farm... nothing special there..

Another one...

An old road clinging to the mountain side ( i love making those!!!!)

And last, region pictures:

From top to bottom:
Motorvei-Motorway
Vei-Road
Jernbane-Railway
Høytog-Elevated Trains ( none of such in Vandals Fjella yet)
Fergeruter-Ferryroutes
Flyplass-Airport ( it will come, don't worry!
Havn-Seaport

Enjoy!

Beautiful update, Glenni! Your mountain roads are simply breathtaking. And it looks like you're inching closer to the Best Sellers category! See you there!

Yoman

Very nice, I just love that ferry terminal, someone will have to blow up the bridge to keep the ferry in service.
