Hi

I have played sim city4 for a while now, still a noob in my eyes lol, but i need a hand on a matter with gascooker lots mainly the houses.
I got all the downloads of gascooker with all the dependencies the houses and commecial lots grow, but from some of the pictures i have seen on websites
some people seem to able to have the same gascooker houses all over the city without any maxis ones....  How do people do that?

Other then the cheating way of getting them.. Is there a way to plop gascooker houses without waiting for them to grow?

Any advice welcome... Thanks

Hi Tvrcars (and welcome to SC4 Devotion!)

Getting the "right" houses to grow over and over again can be tough.  Patience and a steady hand on the bulldozer are going to be key no matter what else you do.  There are ways to plop residentials, but then they don't actually work as housing.  For Gascooker's houses, there are a couple other things that will help.

First, you can use a mod to block the Maxis houses from growing at all.  One can be found here.  Keep in mind though that if you block all the Maxis residentials without having a lot of other custom options, you will be very limited in growing your city.  (You can move this mod in and out of your plugin folder without hurting things too)

The other thing that will help in your case is that all of Gascooker's houses are set to grow in the Euro tileset.  You can uncheck the other three tilesets and greatly improve your chances of growing what you're looking for.  Be sure to mark buildings as "historical" when you do get what you want or it will eventually upgrade into something you might not want.  ;)

Hope that helps,
JB
