bat: Thanks bat

pipishere: Hi pip, thanks for the comments, and I haven't forgotten about the flag.

caspervg: Thanks

Jmouse: Thanks again Joan, hope you found the curves OK. And thanks for that little tip in return  :)

Pat: Of course it was a birthday present Pat, the cow that is  :D

thundercrack83: Thanks Dustin

paroch: lol, I just thought it was a black fence  :D Well as per my PM I have started playing with the LE so some fences
around the sporting fields might start to show up now and again. As for the road thru the school, you have a point. Will
have to have a serious word with my cityplanner  ;)

Redcliffe

Redcliffe is a small town snuggled in between Blaxland and Lawson. Probably should have been called Wentworth (any of you
fellow Aussies should know what I'm referring to).

This is the end of one of the TPW waterways flowing out of Blaxland. Couldn't work out how to merge with the SC4 water
so came up with this idea. Looks OK I think, but would welcome your thoughts as will need to work this transition a few times more
on other areas.

Damn, I missed 4 tiles in the park, hope nobody notices  ::) Of course the mayor isn't happy his memorial park is not
complete and more concerned about the lack of fencing behind his statue. He can't afford to lose any more supporters.

Until next time

Cheers

Dave

Pat

LoL Dave that was a good Update there M8... I do hope the Parks and Recreation Department gets off their bums and get that park finished....  OK you asked for it and here is my take on your transition... Its nice but what about just having the water merge right into it without the flowing waterfall? There could be a small splash there or something to that effect that also might work out? Over all damn good!!! I cant wait to see what you have in store for us later....

bat

I think that this is looking very good now!! Great work on that area, tooheys! And nice new pictures, too!

pipishere

Lol, still thinking of a design huh?!

Well your update is fab and i didn't notice the four missing tiles! :P

Looking forward to you next update.

Jmouse

Dave, I make no secret of my admiration of your work, but this time it's the shores that caught my eye. Maybe because Redcliffe has two nice long ones to enjoy! :)

I'm not qualified to help with the water transition, but I did notice something a bit odd. In the first two photos, the water clearly runs downhill, but look at the third photo. From that angle it looks like the waterfall starts low, goes over a hump and descends again. I'm sure this is nothing but an optical illusion or else I need new glasses! :D

Also, I realize the Complaint Department is open only one day a month (the exact day is one of Balnavia's most closely-guarded secrets) from 3:00 to 3:07 a.m., but maybe I'll get lucky. Do you realize the last region overview was posted Nov. 11? It was the little corner stream that made me think of it - I'd like to see how it connects to neighboring cities.

Anyway, great update as usual, and I'm glad to hear you're playing around with the LE. Just keep in mind that it's dangerously addictive! ::)

Until next time...
Joan

thundercrack83

Redcliffe is looking great, my friend! I agree with Joan, too, the shores are the best part! Keep up the good work, and I'll be back to see more!

paroch

Great work there Dave,

I'm trying to work out the reference to "Wentworth".  In the UK there's a golf course called Wentworth where they hold the world matchplay competition each year - but I can't see the connection??  Maybe some obscure Australian political scandal??

Anyways......nice city overview there.  That suspension bridge looks realy right there.  I'm trying to recall if I've got that one or not - if so, I'll use it real soon.

It's funny, looking at that first picture I thought to myself, "a region wide overview would be good to see" and then I read Joan's comments - so yes please, bring one (or more) on.

I also agree with Joan in that the waterfall / rapids look excellent in the first two pics, but just a little odd in the third.  I've not tried that type of transition before so not sure I can add any advice.

The apartment building with the turret looks nice there on the river bank.  The park's looking good and I don't think I'd have noticed the unworked squares without you pointing them out.  Nice use of the big grey rocks on the river bank as well by the way.

Good luck with the LE - as Joan says, very addictive.  I'll PM you some hints and tips!

Yup, you definitely should have.

paroch: Wentworth [or rather, Wentworth Falls] is a suburb in the Blue Mountains (about 80km from Sydney, I think... it's part of the Metro area, too) located close to the afore-mentioned suburbs of Blaxland and Lawson. Wentworth Falls would've been a better name, mainly because there's a few waterfalls going into the river in this particular map. It's definitely not a political scandal. :P

But... Redcliffe [Red Cliffs in the Blue Mountains] still fits.

What's next, north-western Sydney? :P

I'm afraid I've had a rather busy RL week. I have been working on the new city of Roseville, but it's not quite ready for an update yet. Of course, enough is done for at least one pic  ::). But first some replies:

Pat: Hi Pat, thanks for the suggestion, with a few more TPW/SC water transitions to go, I will certainly give this a try.
Quote"Over all damn good"
Mate, most appreciated, but I'm concerned that you're sounding more Aussie everyday. Keep that up and you might have to apply for a Greencard just to work at home :D

bat: Appreciate the comments, bat.

pipishere: Well it will be blue and white, I can tell you that much  ;). Thanks, but what missing tiles  ??? :D

Jmouse: I new it wouldn't be long 'til the regional shot came up again  ;). Well you'll just have to wait
for the full update  :P As for water flowing uphill, surely you know anything is possible in Balnavia  ::) Thanks for dropping by and the LE, well
I either need to go into detox or find a few more hours in the day  :)

thundercrack83: She does speak some sense that Joan  :D. Thanks Dustin.

paroch: Thanks Paul, no political scandal I'm afraid. Rather boring really. Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson
were a group of explorers who were first to cross the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. SA is correct that they all
have towns named after them in the region (as he should  ;) ) Thanks for dropping by, and as I told Joan, you
will have to wait for the regional shot.

Shadow Assassin: SA, thanks for the headsup on the missing pics. All I have to do now is work out which ones they
were and I'll replace them. Hmmm, you mean there are suburbs west of Pennants Hill Rd $%Grinno$%, More names to use, thanks
Round Corner Dural coming up soon.

Roseville

I've been playing "green" for a while now and it's time to get back to the concrete jungle (and of course demand demands it  ;) )

Hopefully will have a bit more for show over the next day or two, or three or....

Until then, as always

Cheers

Dave

pipishere

What a teaser! I can't wait....really i can't! lol  :D

Oooh, looking forward to the full update.
And the teaser is kinda' nifty too!

Until next region shot time...
Joan

bat

Great area there around that train station! Nice teaser! Looking forward to it!

Nardo69

I always admire your shores, maybe because I am never satisfied with mine. I guess it is because I grew up in the middle of Europe, far away from the sea no matter in which direction ...

Nice teaser. I just don't like the knick at the beginning of the el. Train ...

Take care my friend!

Bernhard

Pat

Yea no kidding I just reread me post to ya's and I agree M8 just don't tell I.R.S err I mean I.N.S  :D

Dave that is a good train station there and I love the transition to GLR...  Cant wait to see more of RoseVille...

BTW how's the lotting coming, haven't heard anything lately.....

And it looks like you're doing a fantastic job! The trains and the GLR look great, as do the skyscrapers. I can't wait to see more of Roseville, my friend!

Nice teaser there Dave.  I recognise it from the picture comp.

You do have a knack of getting the transition from one level to another just right.

Look forward to seeing more of the concrete jungle of Roseville.

pipishere, Jmouse, bat, Nardo69, Pat, thundercrack83, warconstruct, paroch: Thanks for the comments everyone,
given the offering was somewhat small. Hope I can make up for that now. Bernhard I have fixed that transition, thanks

Balnavia

Given the huge demand (hi Joan  ;)) here are a couple of region pics for your info.

Roseville

Roseville, the 3rd concrete jungle in the region.

The commercial area is all plobbable (with jobs), the residential growable.

The West Bank will have similar zoning but will be left in the hands of CAM, so it will be interesting to see
the end result in future updates.

Anyway, to the East Bank:

Well, all said with pic's this time, hope you enjoyed and the next update should be a bit quicker. Trying to build demand
to cover the jobs in the plobable lots isn't that easy. Most of the demand was CO$$, which does narrow down
options a little.

Until next time

Cheers

Dave

Nardo69

Hello Dave!

Now that transition looks way better!

Nice skyscraper jungle - I do appreciate that you give them the necessary space not only to watch all the details but to breath - most of these jungles are way to dense with streets roads and avenues that look like deep gorges where the sun never touches the bottom ...

Another hint: you can avoid these pesky saw-tooths between GLR and greeneries with the http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1197SFBT Filler lots. You'll find a lot of really handy diagonal lots and textures in there - I do love them! ;)

Take care my friend (and don't forget to make regular backups - you know why ...)

Bernhard

bat

That are some very great region overviews there! Fantastic development so far!

And great work on that area shown on the pictures of the wonderful update! Nice commercial area!

Looking forward to more...
