Ok, I was looking at the amazing work people on here have done with Canals and I wanted to try and create some myself. I downloaded the files for that and put them in the Plugins folder. When I opened up my game and tried to build them, all I get are blank tiles that don't develop.

Is there anyone that can help me on this or tell me what I should have to build canals(which pieces, where to build them etc...) or basically a guide on building canals.

Also, I downloaded my previous canals from Simtropolis.com so I'm not sure if some of their files work together with other files I've downloaded before. So, where's the best place to start? And should I download a new Canals pack?

Sorry if this seems kindof jumbled together, I have alot of questions and don't know where to start.

Thanks alot.

Well, there are a few canal sets on ST. Which one did you choose?

In any case, check that you downloaded all the needed model files. Check the download's description to see if you missed something...  ;)

I used the Oppie Canal set.

It seems like all of the Oppie files don't work whether it's canals or buildings.

Have you unzipped the files and placed them in the plug-in folder ?

I was just gonna suggest that, vester.   I did that very same thing when I first got into downloading.    I downloaded a bunch of files and didn't realize I had to unzip um then move um to the my docs/simcity/plugins folder.    I'm glad I had folks around to show me the light as it were.   Heck now alot of um have self installers.    Those are sweet indeed.

Yeah, I made sure that everything was in the Plugin folder before I even attempted to start the game.

Well, I deleted the Oppie canal set and put the JRJ urban canal lots into it. I'm still having similar problems though. I can see a "sparkling" water effect, but the green color of the ground is still very visable. The canal walls and the other features that make up the canal aren't visable. I'll try and put up a picture of what I mean pretty soon.

Could you post a screen dumb of the folder where you have the canals files ?
