Rookie download question

Hello,
        I am brand new to the site and am having trouble figuring out how to get the objects in the game. Where to download/unzip to?? Thank you in advance for any help.

Most files on the LEX come with an installer program that will do the job for you. Download to a holding folder on your desktop and open the zip. Use the installer to do the work for you.

Oh, i feel stupid, I was trying to find a location to unzip to, etc. That makes much more sense. Thanks again

What I do is maintaining a "download" folder where I put every ZIP that I've downloaded, sorted  by BATter or BAT team in subfolders. This is my archive that gets backupped now and then, so I don't have to download everything again when I reinstall my PC or something like this. For installing new content, I simply open the zip and double-click the included installer (if applicable), so it can to the rest.

If the download doesnt have an installer then unzip it into mydocs\simcity 4\plugins

And to add to flame1396 reply, make subfolders in your mydocs\simcity 4\plugins to keep things organized
Either by author/team name or by anything else, but keep it organized it will save you time if you need to find a file
