Other than folders?

I hate it when I download something and am not sure whether or not I have that dependency, so I look hard in the Plugins folder for it. I tried folders but bad habits got the best of me and I forget to make the folders.

I've tried using spreadsheets at times, but have never stuck with it, I just kept getting better at organizing them with folders, and the spreadsheets became just one extra unnecessary step.  I also tend to use the filename as a organizing tool as well, renaming it as needed to keep things orderly, or putting extra info (such as the creator or building type) into the filename to help in running searches.

All you need are two subfolders in Plugins, name them:
