missing props

I have a problem in Lot Editor. Maybe this is already known but I do not have much experience.

I noticed that I do not have all props available all the time. I looked at a lot in lot editor because it has a prop on it that I want to use. I noted down its name and the hex code. Then I opened another lot which I wanted to edit. But when I click on "add item" in the prop tab, the prop I have noted down is not shown in the list. When I open the first lot again, it is there.

Could it be that certain props are only available under special circumstances?

Forget it. My lot was not big enough for the prop.  %wrd

As far as game play goes, the occupant size of a prop is not very important.  You could go into Reader and make this smaller in the prop exemplar so that it fits on your lot (15.9x15.9 would be sufficient).

You could also use Pim-X. It does not have this picky problem: all props are always shown. It's up to you to decide wether you want to cram it on your lot or not.

Thanks, Carl. I will try it out. In the meantime I found a workaround. I just made the lot bigger, placed the prop, then made it smaller again.

Frank: I really should use PIM-X. I gave it a quick try once but I did not find out how it works. I was completely lost. I need to take the time and study some tutorials.

Indeed, it took me some time too, but it's worth it! Good luck.
