Thanks everyone for the encouraging response!

@ SeanSC4: Thanks for the hint ... although this wasn't what I meant  ;), maybe I didn't make myself clear. I'm looking for the stuff that Ennedi mentioned that adds some turbulences, foam, ... to your water.

@ Floyidan: Once you assembled all this rural and flora stuff, it's just a matter of giving it a try. I strolled through the "Show us your ..." threads here and over at Simtropolis to get some ideas and most of all techniques. Then I played around for a while. Once you got the trick of how to combine these elements, it's easy. Just remeber to start with the small stuff and add the "areal" stuff like grass, bushes, .. at last. Another important part - likely done by ShultzCity also - is to cover not only the immediate surrounding, but a larger area with the grass to make it blend in with the game's texture.

@ Ennedi: Thanks for your links and advice. I already have JRJ Water Effects, but they don't fit in with the ploppable water. Or I should better say that I'm not capable to make proper use of them right now, of course  :P. I will give it a try and search for Dedgrens ploppable rapids.

I wish all of you a Merry Christmas! Hope you have Christmas weather where you live. Here we have sunshine and 10 degrees plus (Celsius, of course). The perfect weather for easter holidays ... if it weren't Christmas ....  :P
If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission.

Yes but how are you placing it in these spots, where the game normally doesn't allow you to place any flora? Are you just using the default SimCity terrain?

You're right, this is the normal maxis terrain. But you can cover even this parts if you use flora that spreads out, like the flowers from the Pasture Flora or PEGs bushes, like I used it below the little curve with the red car. They will cover a larger area. So if you place them right, you can cover some of the terrain where you cannot place something directly. The only side effect is that sometime you end up with some flora on the street .. you can see a "near miss" at the right end of the 90 degree curve.

ANd apart from that, I try to place my flora as close as possible to this "blocked" tiles by moving the cursor outwards from the street withthe mouse button pressed. Taht way you will plop flora at teh very first moment it's possible.

Alright time for one o' mine. This is the Praudenburg Creek in the heart of Aetrea. One of the headwaters is still on the surface, but the second has been burried and now exists as a shallow ravine park.

As one moves further downstream into the suburban sprawl, the creek is less contaminated by growth, as laws passed in the 1930's established the remaining ravines as conservation areas.

I thought I had the same as you did... I'm using the Rural Renewal Project flora, especially the bullrushes (cattail).
