Are there any low-density or small monorail stations with a very small commuter capacity available? I'd like swap out the LARGER stations wih huge commuter counts and use something that sort of push the usage to the limit.  I don't want to build a mega-tropolis with millions of sims...they get too mean and ornery (WHEW! gotta watch that spellcheck..i thought the h was silent and  it replaced my misspelled hornery" with something else)

Contrary to popular belief, station performance is not dependent on the number of users. For whatever reason (it's actually a game bug), going over the station limit doesn't increase commute time, nor does it degrade service. Sims will continue to use the station like normal until the station reaches something around 4x the stated capacity (so ~8000 or so for the default station value of 2000). Then the station stops working, and no new passengers can board at the station (like an on/off switch; the station either works or it doesn't).

The reason the default station values have been changed in the new NAM (31.2) is because there is no real added value in low capacity stations, since overuse doesn't affect anything--no real need to upgrade due to long lines or slower commutes--until it's too late.

Z has written some posts on this that are really helpful, and the Station readme file for the NAM documentation should also help somewhat.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Hey, thank you APSMS! you are right, I knew too, that stations star degrading after so many times over it's capacity and the status graphic in the query pop-up, begin to show less than the full graphic, lessening to no graphic when the station has finally boarded its last sim.

What you've described is what I am looking for. a small monorail where the capacity is 'not' set so high to begin with.

I've located a Wild West Small Town Rail Road Revised) with a set of smaller train stations.  I've got the 1000-limit pushed over at around 1700 using this mode of transportation (hehheh - I cheated - its a good chunck of the city where I just strategically broke road connections and camouflaged with planning tress to fill in. So the only way for this side of town to go to work, they have to take the train, while the next neighborhood can drive to work.

Now I want to do the same with monorail but not use the ones with the very high user capacity.

You've misunderstood what APSMS was saying.  What he said is correct.

In brief:  Capacity is essentially meaningless in stations, as is the graphic.  If you set capacity too low, though, the station simply doesn't work.  This is not by design; it's a game bug.  That's why there are no low-capacity stations in the NAM.  Using low capacity stations can mess up your whole traffic simulation.

Maybe we both misunderstood:

Heres what I am looking for:

A monorail that "does" have a lower capacity than the larger capacity stations. Example:

I have a 1000 capacity train station that works and does not cause any effects to my game.  it is at a 1,522 passenger usage and the 5-train gaphic is decreased in visibility.  i am not looking for "shutdown" , just to push the count passed the graphic displayed....

All I want this train station for is to "see" the number of passengers count go beyond the capacity cap as shown in this screenshot.  And to "see" the 5 -train graphic start to decrease instead of stay at the full 5-train status due to the mega number of passengers in the stations that comes with the game or in the NAM update.

Simply looking for a monorail with a lesser capacity than the mega count we have in the regular stations.

Are there " A N Y " low density monorail stations available for download?
