Disappearing Rewards - How to do that with your own rewards?

While making a set of Rewards that replace the Maxis Rewards I found something strange.
Some of them do not appear in the Rewards Menu, although they become available when the requirements are met. Then I can plop them and after the plopping they appear in the Rewards Menu greyed out (like they should).

This happens on my computer with the FrankU Dutch Churches that you can find here on the STEX. Before yesterday I never noticed this strange behavior.
And it also happens with the three cemetery replacements that I am working on these days (look here) and the following posts. In fact I found it while testing the cemeteries and then all of a sudden the church icons seemed to be missing too. Looks like they did work in the past but do not now....  ()what()

I made the rewards by extracing the building exemplar from the Simcity dat-file (following RippleJets tutorial somewhere on this site) and then do a "save as" in LotEditor in order to get a new lot. After that I edited the lot and made a new icon for it.
There should be nothing wrong.
Funny enough I have made several other replacement rewards and they all work fine. I do not find any basic difference between the working and the non working lots or building exemplars, nor the menu icons.

Can anybody confirm the missing menu icons in the Rewards Menu, and can someone shed a bit of light on this issue?

- Edit -
I did another test: With all plugins removed, and a fresh region I do not see the Maxis Houses of Worship, the Maxis cemeteries nor the Maxis Statues in my rewards menu. They appear when they become available, but not earlier. It looks like this is normal. Can anyone confirm or contradict this for me?

Thanks all,

Frank

Hi Frank U. I see this is an old thread and so maybe this issue has been resolved but im having the same problem. I downloaded Peg's Eternal rewards which did the same thing and so i removed those to see if the problem sorted itself out but to no avail. I now use simgoobers churces as they better fit my city but still the issue remains, its only the cemetry that disappears and reappears upon the reward becoming available. By the way im a newbie and so i dont make mods myself or anything so if you reply laymans terms would be appreciated. Thanks toall the modders for the fantastic work you guys put in. Thanks Frank U for the fantastic remoddling of the football ground which i use. Peace and love

First of all

The original topic was my question if it was normal that several Rewards are not visible in the menu, but appear not before they come available.
I feared that I had screwed up something.
This proved to be normal and so I forgot about this thread.

So, matthart1224: this is normal behavior.

But now my question

Instead of thinking I screwed up my game I now try to find out how I can use this behavior to my advantage.

Read this.
I have made a modular Zoo Reward, that replaces the Maxis Zoo. The entrance building is the Reward lot, which also acts as an MML that unlocks all other Zoo modules after plopping.
I am now trying to find out how I can remove the plopped lots from the menu after I have finished plopping the whole modular Zoo. It is not neccessary, but I would like to clean up the menu instead of keeping 15 lots in it that I will not use again.

The system works as follows:
- When the conditions are met you can plop the Reward lot. It is 4x3 tiles and only contains the Zoo entrance.
- After several game days the other Zoo lots appear in the Reward menu. You find them on position 1 in the menu: as first lots, so that you don't need to scroll down after every plop.
- You can plop these as often as you like.
- One of these lots is another entrance lot: let's call it Entrance 2. You find it in the menu, but it is greyed out.
- When you bulldoze the Reward lot, Entrance 2 becomes available. When you plop it, save the game, leave the city and enter it again, you will find the Reward Lot greyed out, Entrance 2 greyed out and all other Zoo lots have disappeared from the menu. So now I have removed 15 lots from the menu.

I made this Entrance 2 lot using the original Maxis building file, so the building exemplar is identical to the building exemplar of the Reward lot.

Problem here is:
1. This procedure with two identical looking lots with different functions might get confusing to other players.
-   I could give the Reward lot a Bulldozer image on the icon, so that it is distinguishable.
-   And of course a good ReadMe, but who reads the ReadMe?
2. The Entrance 2 lot is located on menu position 1. Should I move it to the same position as the original Reward lot, or is this even more confusing?
3. After having plopped the Zoo I now have two greyed out Zoo lots in my menu: one on position 1 (Entrance 2) and one on the original Zoo location (15E). Both are greyed out. Ideally I would like only the original lot to remain in my menu.

So... Does anyone know how I can remove an icon form the menu? It should be something like the way the male/femal mayor's statue disappears after the other one is being plopped: the one you have plopped is greyed out, the one you have not plopped has disappeared (but appears when you use the cheatcode "you don't deserve it").
