I'm having trouble getting BSC and other downloaded automata into the game. Do I need to name the Automata folder I made so that it loads after the NAM?
The most astounding and unique aspect of the human race is our fervent application of our ingenuity to kill each other, thus completely defying the near-universally proven fact that the ultimate goal of a member of a species is to ensure the survival of the species.

The name doesn't interfere with any custom automata, so you can install it whereever you want. The only exceptions are custom el-rails that you want to use in UDI mode. Since UDI for el-rail was introduced by the NAM (and not available before), you'll have to make sure that it loads after the NAM.

Flame,

Would you mind listing what automata you have downloaded so we can help you better with your problem?

Ok... I mostly have mikeseith's automata (not the ones that come with a dealership) including the V70 and Hummer vehicles. I also ahve screenshots showing where it is all installed. I feel there may be a conflict with the automata file that comes with the NAM? I also ahve a Taxi replacement and additionals. plus some of swamper77's stuff.

My plugin organization. Automata folder is inside of Transportation Related. So It will load after NAM

The inside of transport related folder

Automata folder below are some pics of the installations of swampers replacement automata

The NAM file I suspect causes a conflict.

Flame,

The NAM's automata file won't affect the automata files in any way, except on the numbers of the automata that appear in your city. Other than that, the file should not be affecting them at all.

Mike Seith's automata should appear automatically on the streets, but you will have to insert a MySim in order to drive them around your city. The taxi vehicles by Mike Seith will appear where you normally see taxis and occasionally in traffic with the other commuters/vehicles. His taxis are driveable in UDI from the taxi icon in your UDI Menu.

My Emergency Vehicle automata are specifically set to certain groups of automata. The EMS units will appear where ambulances do, mainly around hospitals and the Disease Research Center. The fire and rescue units will appear where fire trucks do, around fire departments when they are plopped down and when you dispatch fire trucks to a fire. The Fire Chief's car that was part of the American Fire Vehicles pack will appear around all fire department lots that are plopped down after it is installed. It has its own icon in the UDI menu.

My files are a bit scattered on my systems (I have 2 computers, both with the same file structure). The vehicles produced by others are sitting in the Program Files Plugins folder, where the game is installed. My custom vehicles that I have made are in the MyDocs Plugins folder. I also have the NAM onboard but it hasn't caused any problems for me in regards to automata.

I would suggest though, that you move all documentation/html files/uninstallers/etc. to somewhere outside of your Plugins folder, where the game won't try to load them. This will help reduce the load time a bit when loading up the game.
