With a little more time, I think I have gotten the color correct now. It looks very close to the real thing and isn't too blue:

Keep in mind that this is the detailed model, which could be used for a prop. It is also where I get my colors for the automata model, as I take screen shots of the detailed model so I can build the skin in PhotoShop. I've added the texts to the detailed model and have declared this model to be "final", meaning I will make no further changes to it for my project. This does not mean that I won't make copies of it to modify for other projects, such as other police vans. It just means that the Seattle Police Department van won't be modified or added to.

Not bad at all! Looking forward to release!

So will the Seattle police car/van be released alone, or along with other skins?

@Nerdly: Originally, I was considering releasing the Seattle police units by themselves. After toying around with some ideas last night, I came up with a different plan.

The Seattle police units will be released, but as part of a pack of Seattle civic vehicles. I'm still doing some research on Seattle's civic vehicles to figure out which ones ingame will be replaced by their real world counterparts.

The police units have been finalized. The only change I will be doing is add text to the hood and trunk of the Crown Victoria.

Seattle Ambulance, which is dispatched by the fire departments. I found a limited selection of photos on the web, but they were enough to repaint the EMT1 EMS ambulance I released in the past. Instead of the blue "Star of Life" emblem on the sides at the back end, it has the Seattle Fire Department emblem.

It will take some time to get some of the vehicles I have released previously repainted and more time yet to get some new civic vehicle models made. Do not ask for a release date. They will be ready when they are ready.

I scaling down my Seattle Civic Vehicles pack. I was being too ambitious trying to replace them all. So I've made a Seattle Emergency Vehicles Pack instead. Here's the manifest for this pack, which will be released in the very near future:

- Ford Crown Victoria patrol car
- Chevolet Astro police van
- EMT Ambulance
- Pumper Fire Truck
- Ladder Fire Truck
- Fire Battalion Command vehicle

Here are the pictures of the last 3 vehicles of the list:

These vehicles will be released as soon as I am done updating my Automata Essentials file.

Automata Essentials and Emergency Vehicle Sets
I'm updating the contents of this file to clean up some code and to include content for future releases. I'm also updating my various emergency vehicle packs that involve fire units. Among the changes I am making, the rescue units and the Euro Fire Van will be part of a group of vehicles called "Fire Support Vehicles". This set of vehicles includes the fire chief vehicles as well. In the Automata Essentials file, I have created a single button for this group.

By default, a modified copy of the Maxis Maroon SUV will be installed with the Automata Essentials. Here's a glimpse of it:

This vehicle is slave to the button that will be labeled "Fire Support Vehicles" in the Main UDI menu. The current fire chief/support vehicles will be stripped of their icons. In each of the Emergency vehicle packs, I will be adding a "Default" file, which will override this maroon SUV with your choice of the fire chief/command vehicle from one of the packs. So you could have the Euro Fire van replace the SUV and also have a Crown Victoria fire chief's car driving about your cities. This is one of the many configurations that will be supported by the new file arrangement.

The Fire Battalion Command vehicle in the Seattle Fire Department files will override the maroon SUV of the Automata Essentials file.

Notices will be added to all the emergency vehicle packs after all the files are updated.
I will also be updating all the READMEs to reflect the changes.

Holy... ! That is gorgeous! My one suggestion is to darken the Suburban somewhat... but it's amazing what you can do even while modeling overpasses for the RHW...  &apls

I already have an amber light texture, btw, somewhat darker than yours - I used it in the creation of a Spanish ambulance based on your Euro one, which I haven't tried in game...

This better? ()what()

The two rotating beacons at the back of the Seattle Fire Department pumper are yellow, not amber. I've also put an amber beacon image into my Automata Essentials file for future releases. If you don't mind, I'd like to use yours instead, with credits to you for making the amber beacon image.

The lighting in the windows of the Default Fire Command vehicle was rather simple. 2 frames and each one is displayed for 4 frames before the other one shows up. That is simple compared to having two sets of rotating lights.

The updated Automata Essentials is now live on the LEX.
Credits to nerdly_dood for the amber light graphic he provided in this thread.

I've added a bunch of new graphics and added a new vehicle to the Automata Essentials File.
The new vehicle is a Fire Command vehicle:

This vehicle is attached to the new "Fire Support Vehicles" icon that will appear in the Main UDI Menu. After I update the rest of my emergency vehicle packs, all Rescue, Fire Chief/Commander, and Support Vehicles will be accessed through this new icon. This is to reduce the clutter of icons that was starting to occur as I was adding vehicles to the game. This means that the Jeep Cherokee Fire Support vehicle and the Fire Chief's Car will no longer have their own icons in the UDI Menu.

All fire support vehicles will have appropriate dashboards in UDI Mode in the game as well. I've added two new dashboard setups for them. Fire Chief/Commander vehicles will have a status window that reads "Fire Commander Vehicle Control" at the top and have a red dashboard behind the gauges. Fire support vehicles will have a status window that reads "Fire Support Vehicle Control" at the top and have a red dashboard behind the gauges. Fire support vehicles are rescue units and other vehicles that carry gear and personnel to assist at a fire scene.

The Fire Command Vehicle will be spawned by fire departments that you place after installing the Automata Essentials File. The other fire support vehicles such as rescue units will also appear on the roadways near the fire stations once I get their updated files onto the LEX.

EDIT: All the emergency vehicle files have been updated and descriptions are in my Service Station thread. I also changed the formatting in that thread. Looks more like a large table now.

Not bad! You happened to catch me at a rather bad time to take a look at your updated dependency - I'm just about to reinstall Windows. Again.  %wrd
EDIT: Having successfully reinstalled Windows I have redownloaded Reader and looked at your udpated dependency file. I am very curious about a few things that I find somewhat unusual:
- There's a green light texture with a matching glow-effect texture
- There's your yellow light texture as well as my amber one (both with their glow textures)
- There's a white light texture with its glow texture
- There are some textures which I can't identify: 0xC235001D and 0xC235001E - are these glow effects for different styles of flashing lights such as strobes?

I'd just like to see how these textures will be used is all.

Nice work, Jan.  Always a pleasure coming over and seeing what you've created.  :)

@Nerdly: The new graphics are for future releases or for customizing existing emergency vehicles. I may not actually use them all, but it's better to have the files there now instead of having to do another update later. For now, I'm not going to say what any of the new graphics are for. You'll just have to wait and see ;)

Since today is my Birthday, I thought I would give everyone an early present. I've uploaded my Seattle Emergency Vehicles to the LEX. There is a total of three files:

- SeattleFD_Replace: Replaces the Maxis Fire Truck and adds a Ladder Fire Truck.
- SeattlePD_Replace: Replaces the Police Car, Police Van, and the parked Police Car props
- CrownVicPolice_Seattle: This file contains the Seattle Police Car prop model. This is required to use the SeattlePD
file in the download, as it contains the model that the parked police car prop exemplars are referencing.

IMPORTANT! This download will conflict with other mods that replace the Maxis emergency vehicles. This includes Nerdly's and Ja/att's files on the STEX, Zwanneman's files from SimCityCentral, and any other mod that replaces the Maxis emergency vehicles.

Complete installation instructions are in the Readme file. Any technical issues with these files should be posted in my Service Station thread.
