MORE Metropolitan Curious Georgetown




Let's see what other type of excitement is going on in fabulous Curious Georgetown!


There is more to Curious Georgetown than its glittering downtown skyline.

It also hosts the largest university on Monkey Island, Curious Georgetown University (CGU). Home of the Monkey Island Athletic Association (MIAA) National Champion Banana Tossing team, CGU offers a great education for only a few bananas.


CGU is located just west of downtown.

Near the university sit the government district and a large park, all of which are surrounded by fine homes.


University Avenue splits around the front of Yellow Hat Park.


City Hall and the Banana County Courthouse are facing the park.


City Hall faces out onto Chimp Plaza, home of the famous Obelisks of Monkalonia.


Yellow Hat Park provides a spectacular backdrop for large residential buildings.


Down Ooh Ooh Circle, many CGU professors and students have taken up residence.


Many university students work part time in the neighboring businesses. A hard working monkey can earn a lot of bananas with a good part time job.

The monkeys don't really care about global warming, do they? They leave 3/4 of the lights on by day and they build 2-lane avenues that give access to a park.

caspervg   The monkeys are not concerned. Most of the planet Bananarama is uninhabited forest, so there is plenty to absorb the CO2.

Curious Georgetown Living





Have you ever wondered where all of the monkeys live in Curious Georgetown? Of course you have! We'll see where some of the residents live and work in this update.


Let's stop by the glitzy neighborhood of Tarzan Heights. It is a short commute to downtown from here.


Many homes are near great parks. Not many parks have swinging vines though. But, most homes come equipped with several.


Over by Baboon Mall, teenage monkeys from the neighborhood come to hang out. And, I do mean hang out!


Tarzan Heights is near the landmark office building of You Jane, Inc. You Jane is the commercial development arm of Me Tarzan Realty, which developed Tarzan Heights.


One of the tallest residential buildings in town is the cylindrical Gorilla Gates. Many famous Monkey Island athletes live there when not in training for the Simian Olympics.

Made In China: Olympic Subcontracting




Because of industrial restrictions in China to clear the air for the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese government contracted out with Golden Banana Industries of Monkey Island to keep the world's supply of goods flowing. So, when you are shopping this month, remember that it may say "Made in China" but it was really made right here in Monkey Island!

Here's to Industry, Bruce.  I don't think I've created an SC4 industrial area in a couple of years (see ongoing comments you know where as to general absence of any development whatsover), but when I do...

...I want it to look just like yours!

I can just picture those monkeys working away from dawn 'til dusk in their little paper union caps, and the janitors sweeping banana peels up off the factory floor just in case an OSHA inspector drops by.  Great work- MI is always an inspiration.

I'm not usually a fan of skyscrapers, but your downtown photos always look great. And I have to agree with the others - the industrial area is exceptionally well done.

And your description of the little monkey workers.... Created the perfect picture of the scene in my head. If I could only copy and paste that into SC4D!

TheTeaCat   It is true... all industry in China has been sent to Monkey Island to clear the air in China. Air will clear on Monkey Island later, especially after bean eating season is over.

Jmouse  Thanks! I am glad you liked it. Wanna know a secret? The industrial area is like 85% Maxis. Some Maxis stuff is boring, but I have to say that a lot of their industry stuff is well done. I thought it would be nice to try out something new. I am glad you think it turned out well.
