Can someone please advise me on how to extract single props from mega prop packs.
I want to create prop families of certain props I can only find in mega packs.

And another very disturbing issue: Apparently The Socialist State of Rodina has been invaded by South Africa!!   :o
My cities are suddenly polluted by SA flags. Does anyone know where that flag prop is located so I can remove it?

hi sepsis,
i may be able to help with the flag issue, maybe. i had the brazil flag popping up (from sg's brazilian opera house), i just moved the flag i use to the last folder in my plugins folder which is a zzz folder used by a few bats. therefore it overwrites the sg flag on random bats that use flags. i am also using pegs 1 flag many nations mod so that also may be an issue.
i hope this helps, if not, i hope you find the correct answer, i wouldnt want Rodina to be invaded, although i seem to remember that they are a force to be reconned (sp?) with themselves.

That can only be done in iLive's Reader (open the megapack in Reader).

You need to locate the prop exemplar files of the props you want to extract.
The name of the prop exemplar usually tells which prop it is.

If you want to see the prop of that prop exemplar:
- Check the property Resource Key Type 1 within that prop exemplar.
- Note the TGI address pointed to by the RKT1.
- Locate the S3D file having that address within the megapack.
- Click it and you will see the prop in the right pane in Reader.

Copy those prop exemplar files (click on the prop exemplar and click Ctrl-C),
and paste them (Ctrl-V) into your own megapack (starting with a blank file).

Edit the prop exemplars by adding a prop family (from your own reserved range).

Save your megapack in a folder having a name starting with zzz...,
to make sure it is loaded after all megapacks from which you've extracted the prop exemplars.

I charge you to present evidence for such horrific actions! South Africa is a peace-loving country and would never invade a country without its consent!  :P

I think the above issue comes with certain CSX Lots. Although I have never experienced this.

Or your cities are so full of South African flags already, that you wouldn't notice it! :D

M4346

Actually not... I use my very own BSC Elytheria flag!  ;D

Well here you go:

Jenilenskozjirinsk naval base, currently under occupation by the evil South Africans.
Deeply disturbing indeed..

Fortunately they havent yet managed to enter Ilitj, where the proper flags are still flying proud..

..and I've looked through all the CSX mega prop packs without finding that damn flag..

LOL! I see what you mean...

I doubt that it would be in the MEGA Props because the flag was released with the BSC Flag Prop Packs, and may have been subsequently included in a CSX plugin in which it was modded to be the flag for the Peg's OFMN mod.

I suggest that you check the CSX plugins for the flag prop, or alternatively make the prefered OFMN mod / instance load last to ensure that it supersedes all other instances of it.

That is, of course, if it is the OFMN mod that is affected. Does this appear to be the case on other lots which use the OFMN mod?

Yep, I think it's the OFMN mod that's affected. I'll try putting it in a zzzfolder.

Thanks for the advice!

Diggis

Sepsis, Did you see the replies to this over at Pegs?  It is an issue that has cropped up a couple of times before and is due to an errant file in a CSX mega pack.

Loading the OFMN flag from a ZZZ folder should work fine
